Tim,

I assume you mean the socket for the flywheel right? I'm in West Islip and have one. If that's what you need, call me, I will PM you my number.

Anthony

yeap thats the one, i tried a 12 point 2 1/8 and it had that little bit of play that made me leary about putting an impact gun to it, but ive been known too worry too much and by the time i went to try it i had to return the BFS to its owner who does heavy equipment repair. I sent you a PM and i'll give you a call after i get off this OT tour at 8. thanks for the response

I was wondering if you ended up using your 2 1/8 12 point socket or ended up getting a 54MM socket . If you used a 54, would you mind letting me know where you got it and what size drive it is ?
Also, can this be done with a breaker bar instead of an impact as I don't have one?

thanks

Yep, i used a 2 1/8" 12 point craftsman socket which was 3/4" drive but i also borrowed the reducer from AnthonyNYC and used my 1/2" impact gun. I did order a 54mm socket from sears(its actually made by KD tools) but it took 28 days to get to me(no joke). so the nut was long off by the time i got it i actually forgot that i even ordered it. I was alittle leary about using the 12 point with impact but the amount of surface area that was making contact with the corner of the nut was fine. to answer your question yes it is possible from all the other rebuild threads ive read to get that beast off with a breaker bar just make sure you support the block properly. i put a chain from the rotor housing to the pressure plate bolts to hold the rotating assembly. heres a link to my rebuild. https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generation-specific-1993-2002-16/last-minute-suggestions-anyone-745385/ good luck. -tim
