Guys guys, heres the deal. All out Gran Turismo Turny. Everyone has from now until the turny to build any RX7 they wish, classes will be

Production and LM

LM cars are unlimited modifications, run what you brought.

Production will be broken down by model FC and FD

Time trials to be run on two tracks. Each challanger chooses there best track to run on. Best 2 out of three laps wins, meaning whoever lead the most laps as well as whoever crosses the finnish line first. IE you can be in second place for the entire race, pass and cross the line at the last second and still not pass to the next round. Im keeping it simple now however more rules can be posted if everyone likes this idea.

Thats how the time trials would be run in both classes. Now if anyones interested we can do a limited catagory of factory power, suspention and trani mods ONLY!!!

This is actually a hot challenge. Its far harder than you would imagine. Ive seen slower cars take much faster cars thanks to those suspention mods and consistancy of where the trani is tuned to deliver power.

If everyone is down send a PM to myself or DarkAngelKamui (sorry for volunteering you)

Personally I challenge you all. I have an FD RS that is beyond being beat and holds track record nationaly (GTPlanet.net) at Appricott Hill. Faster than any production car (non LM or prize car)

About damn time someone gave up a detailed proposal, and I like the sound of it

Just to add to that, there will be a drift segment as well....

GT3 as well as any other racing game:
Time trials (according to DaGOAT)
Drift

Any fighting game:
Standard Tourney rules (Whoever can come out on top)

lol, simple really... but quite clever....

As for getting into huge details over each segment of the tourney, I think it'd be best to keep things plain and simple for the first time.... so no prizes, but pots are still welcome if anyone is willing to throw down cash on their game of choice..... I suggest a $5-$10 buy-in for all pot battles.....

I'm willing to throw down cash on Dead or Alive, Soul Caliber 2, Need for Speed Underground 2, Marvel vs. Capcom 2, both Halos, and any Virtua Fighter title..... Anyone else wanna go up against me in these titles?

If not, then post the title of your choice that you wish to put cash on.... I need to start setting up the brackets for each title....

People interested:
Tofuball
YF19
Lt. Dan
SkEltAh
eage8
BigPimpin'
ErnieT
X-Javen-X (Althought it'd be interesting to see him travel all the way up from NC )
JSplit
Christi (If I can manage to rig up some sorta server for people outside of the area to enter)
Su_Maverick
Sudseh
Ratler9782
Shinobi-X
Rousuke91t
DaGOATCorollaGTS

As for the place, i'm currently stumped as to where to hold this.... however, if YF19 or another member has a place big enough to hold this thing, then i'd be more then happy to compensate them for the space rented... Might even have to consider a small entering fee to this whole thing.... Just let me know if you'd like to host the location, guys

If you have the pads for DDR, I'd pay just to watch two people go at it. That game is wild when I see people playing at D&B.

Bust-a-move is fun too.

ZOE2???

You should lay down the GT3 rules and regulations on modding your car for the different catagories. I myself would like to start preparing the cars now.I'm owning the 500hp-700hp
drift catagory!

Check this V V V V

OH!!! YEAH!!!!!! SUGOi!!!!!!!!

lol, now taking all suggestions for GT3 rules and regulations....

Also, I think i'm going to lean towards throwing this thing on December 18th.... any problems with said scheduling for any of you, let me know... I want to optimize the date so that EVERYONE can attend (and I can try and get the most cash out of all of you suckas.. :P)

YF19, your place still available to hold this thing? If so, i'm gonna appoint you as second in command for planning, since you've given me the most input...

all mods should be aloud, just pairing people up should be different. Like dont have a 100hp drift viper against a 460hp drift FC. I normally use a FC, but i have used a viper and it is alot faster, a good match would be a fully modded 300zx drift car vs a fully modded viper. I know some people like to use sims tires, i personally dont. Set it up similiar and forumla D with a chase enviroment. The faster car cannot go wot on straights espically from a stop. those are my suggestions.

I checked, no can do at my place sorry.

I like the idea of rules and regs for the GT3 tourney. I'd just head over to the SCCA and maybe dig up some LeMans regs or even how D1 does it and get a quick read and give the cliff notes version and apply it to what we want to do.

I'd probably look at drift, rules, car setups, which courses and which corners would good. Need to look at easy/medium/hard corners, transitions, what would be challenging to beginners and experts. I for one am not a GT drifter so i wouldn't have the slightest clue how to even start. If I was looking into a drift or race, i'd probably lean towards sim tires just for that added realism. Maybe we can do a quick 15 lap race - nothing too slow so the race will go pretty quick. Round robin format.

i actually find sim tires to me "unrealistic" considering it makes a stock FC seem like a beast when u break loose super easy. Normal or sport tires are something i would say are more realistic.

Haha, actually guys there is a DDR Tournament here in hagerstown in a little while, I will get back to you on the date cause im sure we could co operate our little tourny there while they get there stuff setup and between judging classes and what not.

Ok GT3 Rules are as follows.

-Unlimited
Everyone wants to run what they brought. So pick your biggest baddest machine and see whos created the ultimate beast, track to be determined by drift judges.

-LM
Also an unlimited class in mods and tuning however this class is for LM RX-7s only.

-Production
FD and FCs welcome. FC group will run followed by FDs. No limit on mods so make sure you dont show up with some second rate piece cause you will get laughed at. Now depending on performace we might want to take some time to spot race a few fast FCs against some not so fast FDs to see how things turn out.

-The Tortus and The Hair
FDs and FCs welcome. FC group will run followed by FDs. You can choose ONE OR THE OTHER. Ether nothing but power modifications or nothing but suspention modifications. I realize corners can get pretty crazy to navigate so SPORT TIRES only for you power lovers. Depending on performance we could modify this rule to keep things competative. Suspention freaks build accordingly cause your gona get hunted on the straights.

-Drift
Duh. However I would like to see this heavily discriminated. I want huge angles and most time spent sideways. Getting sideways far before the turn instead of at it or its exit. On the throttle the whole way thru instead of feathering. Connecting drifts from turn to turn. Apricott Hill, Tokyo 246, Midfield, SS11, Deep Forest, Trial Mountain. Start Practicing, cause these tracks arent as easy to drift as you would think.

And again, Personal Challange to everyone, FD RS Appricott Hill. Dont even think about it unless your running a 1:14.00 or better. In case your wondering, my last recorded best lap was 1:12.972. IM currently working on getting into the mid 12s with my RS. And ive heard a friend of mine has an RZ whose in the 11 second range.

Oh yeah

-Grudge Match
For whatever reason you want to race someone bring it on. Just be carefull cause you might both get stuck with one lap on the Complex String in Minis.

Now that the Classes are layed out, Rules for the runoffs/time trials/superlaps.

I dont know when you guys want to start or how long everyone has (little bbq before or something?), I looked at the number of people and gave generous counts for lap times and it looks like with driver changes and game load we might need 2:30 to 3 hours for this.

Time trials will be challenges. First track will be chosen by player 1, outcome will be recorded and second player (regardless of who wins that race) chooses a track. Outcome of both those races will be tallied by points (possible consideration for crowd favorate for skills shown) and that will decide who of the two goes to the next round. This may take a while.

I would like to see 4 laps, 2 is way to short, 3 is actually a good number but I want to see consistancy so im throwing in an extra lap just to make sure your all keeping on your toes. Plus gives a person a chance to come back from a mistake. These things happen.

When my little group playes we usually restart for bad starts. We like to have a close race from the get go, I would like to see that in play here but I will leave that up to the players.

Im giving one point for each lap your in first place, 2 points for finnishing first. So if you lead only one lap and your opponent leads the rest but screws it up at the last second and you take the race you both have 3 points. We might give it a rematch we might just have you hold off till we rebracket you to the next round with a diffirent opponent.

PLEASE try your best not to contact other drivers. In the racing community this is a black flag and I would love to enforce a manditory pit even if its not active I want at the very least a full stop if you put an opponent off track.

Shortcuts...im fine with them. Do whatever you need to be fast just dont take that option away from your fellow driver.

Damn, lots of progress since I last posted....

YF19, sorry to hear that we can't host it at your spot.... now that it's still up in the air, I might have to knock the date back a bit more to try and find somewhere large enough....

DaGOAT, if the date still sticks, i'd be more then happy to give you transpo from Hagerstown and back.... I usually end up going that way anyway to drop my brother off halfway on route to Cumberland..... If you could get to the Town Center, it'd be perfect for me...... Also, if anyone doesn't have any disagreements with the suggestions he made for classes and rules, they'll be put in stone as official.... i'll give a week for anyone to add or modify said suggestions.....

Also, just uploaded Super Street Fighter to the Xbox, so if nobody has the original SFII for another system, you'll have to make do using the Xbox controllers...

Anyone play NFSU2, or at least feel confident with their ride and settings to compete in a challenge? lol

"Tortoise and the Hare"

The time trial rules seem cool. Very similar to the Options videos. The chaser is through a flip of a coin - no big deal. The only down side is that GT3 doesn't have steep hills and dips on tracks so you can really "feel" or rather see a NA (stock) struggling up the hill versus a turbo (stock) car or that kind of stuff. And then they switch spots and whoever can keep up wins.

Beware ... i will devestate you with my awesome lawn-mowing-shortcut techniques!

Honestly, I'd give NFSU2 a 7-7.5/10. It's nice but not all that great. They stole so many ideas from every other game so it feels that they didn't come up with anything original. Free roam and "outrun" .. Tokyo Xtreme Racer. More "parts"? ... name of parts - you don't even get to see a picture. and the bling factor .. oi. SUV racing .. double oi. Drag racing .. WHILE dodging hills, train cars and stuff like that .. more oi.

im excited, im going to get my skills back up in the FD. Think I will prep my Speed 12 for the unlimited class.

Akumi san. Arigato gozaimasu. I would appreciate the ride. I will see what I can do about getting out to where you requested.

This is the only thing I'd have to disagree with. Many of the races on the tracks are either won or lost in these turns where exit speed is paramount to the win. It's the real test of entry/exit speed, and I think it would really make the races more interesting for those with less power challenging higher power cars. If we take shortcuts, then the higher HP cars are going to have a serious advantage, defeating the purpose of underdog wins.

no shortcuts through the grass? i can't use my super-ultra-grass-cutting-sliding-past-j00-uncontrollably-to-win techniques then. bah.

if we do the drift competition, i'll supply the stupid sound effects when you mess up and represent Orido. who else wants to be on the judges panel with me? =).

I would love to judge the drift portion and a good portion of the time trials as well.

Are we going to have multiple machines running or just one with a large viewing area?
