S4 ecu with s5 motor

Why do I see some ppl using s4 ecu a on s5 motors? Is there any performance advantages? Why do ppl do this? I would think the s5 unit is more advanced and a better option. I have an s5 with street port and no aux sleeves all emissions removed. Still running MOP. Corksport header and presilencer and 3" exhaust. Would there be some kind of advantage running an s4 ecu with my safcII? Will it be able to read the sensors? Are there any mods involved? Or does the ecu just clip right in?

I think they have richer tunes if i remember correctly, but im pretty sure an safcII would make it pointless.

just a guess, but: (1) they're probably more plentiful, and (2) you don't have to deal with a potential limp mode.

People use S4 electronics on S5 engines because most cars are S4 and maybe they came across an S5 engine as a replacement.

Its easier to change the sensors on the engine to S4 than to try and hack the S5 electronics into an S4 car.

In your case, there is no reason to do any of this nonsense.
