Is it possible to run ...........

Thinking of maybe going back to a carbed set up on this current project. Its a street ported 6 port 13b w/ all new internals and hardened gears. Just waiting for the rotor bearings to come get here in order to slap this this together. So my question is can one use the stock ignition set up (cas) on a carbed s5? I've already done it to an s5 but with a FB distributor set up in my old 83 gsl. I'm thinking the stock s5 ecu would be able to run the cas as usual and have no effect on the carb. Am I right? A nice FPR should take of the high fuel pressure and everything else I've already dealt with. Let me know if I'm missing something. Thanks!

With no fuel injection setup I would think the ECU would be in some sort of limp mode and not run the ignition as well as you would hope.

I saw a thread somewhere that somebody modified the S4/S5 CAS to directly run a direct fire ignition setup, I dont remember many details but it looked more work than it was worth so I just stuck with a 12a dizzy.

i would think the stock ECU requires some feedback from the intake system in order to regulate correct timing. i'm not 100% sure though since i'm not very well-versed in the stock ECU.

Hmmm, I guess an after maket ecu would be the way to go then, but if thats the case I'll stick with fuel injection.
