That's not a tach. It's measuring decibels.
Its telling you the rave starts at 9000 rpm.

running float bowls out of fuel after half way point
Went faster down to 14.411 heres a video of the run, the other car was a type r turbo civic.

Have peripheral ported it now, its still running the original carb its making 166rwhp at the moment and 208nm torque but its now running out of breath after 7000rpm so im going to further modify the carb and see if I can get to 200rwhp on a nikki carb. Its alot faster now than what it was so hoping for 13s.

Went back to the dyno and got 183rwhp and 210nm torque couldn't get any more out of it as i was running out of fuel up top was dropping from 4.5psi to 2psi.
The car has a carter pump but stock fuel lines so i think the fuel lines are the restricting factor

Nice! Once you get the fuel delivery sorted you should be well over 200hp.
I've seen a 12A bridgeport make 220hp at the wheels running a modified nikki 4 barrel. It was in a street car with street tires and it ran a 13.4 at just over 100mph from memory.
I also know of a 13B bridgeport that made 235hp with the same carb setup.

Yeah Im sure its possible to get 200rwhp + I may put a surge tank and another fuel pump in it and go back to the dyno and see how much further I could go, but Im also tempted to just put fuel injection on it, In a way it would be simpler, However Im getting good at pulling the carb to bits to make adjustments!

Took the Rx7 to the strip with the new engine finally and only got two runs due to a rail car crashing and closing the strip down, had a slipping clutch but managed to run a 13.967 @ 97.52 MPH so it has got a bit more left in it yet!

the engine is a 12app with the original nikki carb somewhat modified

heres the runs from the weekend

here are my slips and then the following week I went to the dyno, was only able to get it to 6500, 4th gear pulls take FOREVER when you need to get to 8000 rpm, heat was becoming an issue. First time on the dyno was I was a bit nervous, I buckled my seatbelt up lol.

drag times I pretty much predicted, but I was a little disappointed on the dyno pulls. I know this car is gutted to hell but it can't weight 2000 lbs

I was car 272 in the left lane each run. I'm missing a slip but its basically the same as the other 4.

I have only been drag racing once, which was in July 2010. My car is a Mazda Capella, at that stage it had a 13b bridgeport (bearings had siezed to shaft badly and free'd up again, but still dragging on the shaft, which I didn't know until the motor let go early this year - got sold a dud) fuel injected, s5t gearbox, 4.77 diff gears, guru motorsports LSD, cheap 205/60/13 tyres and a really bad speed density (map) tune done by me on the street .

I have now built a new motor for it which is leaps and bounds better, I'm running an Alpha-N (TPS) tune. While I primarily use the car for street and circuit racing, I'll run it down the strip again once it's all sorted out and I'm done running it in.

Given how badly the car was running on the speed density tune, I'm suprised I pulled out a flat 14! I'm normally not too keen on drag racing, but I'm quite interested to see how the new setup will compare.

I'm car 105 by the way

I set NZ N/A 2 rota record with this pass, a m8s car I was just driving, car was sold not too long ago, new owner put it in the wall at about 160Kph.

My old FC was post in the thread early, its the incar view.
Best pass in that was 12.2@113mph.

Sold the car and kept the motor to go into somethng alot lighter.
