Measuring Port Timing for Custom Template

Hey guys I've decided on the specs for my own ports but how do you guys draw it onto the template? How do you measure how much to add to the aux ports, for example, if I want to increase it from 70 degrees ABDC to 80 degrees ABDC? I've tried searching extensively but have come up with nothing. Thanks.

Steven

Well I guess I must have not been using the right keywords. google helped a lot more than the search function. I see that people are using a timing wheel. What solutions do you guys suggest?

i use a timing wheel and a piece of clear plexiglas. i cut the stock ports out on the plexiglas first, then use the timing wheel to scribe the new open timing. finally, i cut it out.

most of my own templates are plexiglas, but one of my little "projects" is to eventually replace them with metal templates.

plexi is nice cause you can still see the corner and side seals, so you know when to stop cutting

yes, but it sucks (at least for me) for concocting a bridgeport template. maybe it's because i'm trying to get such small bridgeports, but i can't cut a smooth bridgeport to save my life. (my streetports are gorgeous though. ) it's okay though, i'll be using aluminum for my next bridgey attempt.
