idle problems on bridgeport

idle problems on bridgeport

the car fires right up now but will idle at 3k rpms then die down and stall. I adjusted the cam idle screw, check fuel pressure, afm. need some advice. thanks

My car did the same thing when the afm took a crap. I know ya checked it, but that was my experience. It was a s4 btw.

ok i checked the intake .. put new gaskets on them. changed my afm.. still same problem.

it will stay runnin if i hold the gas a bit..

wheres your idle at ? if you dont have any intake leaks or timming issues you should be ok , bump the idle up some and advance the timming ....

its goes to 1500 but then just drops down and stalls

it could be a bad throttle position sensor i had the same problem and today i just fixed it. have yours tested at the gas station they will tell you how much power should be running through it when your ignition is turned on. let me know what happens if this ended up solving your problem

sounds like it could be a vacuum leak, if you light a cigarette and put it near all the intake gaskets, with a little RPM, you can see the intake draw smoke from the cigarette.
