Looks really good I must say. Well done on the build. Don't take this the wrong way, but I think you may want to rethink your exhaust system now that you are going with a P-Port. A true dual system is good for stock ports and street ports but for bridgeports and peripheral ports the best results seem to come from collected systems. You may want to collect your primaries using a cross-pipe which splits again after the collecter so that you keep your dual exhausts. 18" would be a good place to start with for placing the collecter but that may not be possible with the RB header but i'm sure you would still be better off with a long primary collected system then a true dual. Also I noticed you havent bent your exhaust system, you have just joined them at angles, perhaps you should replace those joins with some mandrel bends for better flow. I also noticed that the exhaust piping looks rather small in diameter, even though they are dual exhausts their diameters look smaller than that of your header which may further restrict power. P-ports are very sensitive to exhaust setups and if your setup does'nt flow well your not going to see its full potential. Im not trying to be harsh but it looks like a top notch setup you have there I would hate all that effort to be wasted due to an exhaust system that doesnt meet the same standard.

Once again, stunning looking fuel system and engine.

Good Luck

Cheers,

As for the exhaust they are both 2" all the way through. I had alook back at the pics and your right the headers do look a little different but i assure you they arn't. You are right though i should replace the cuts with bends.

The Headers (as you can see earlier) were put together from various bits. Now depending on how this runs/dynos with this exhaust i will look at going for a new set up. I can break down/clean up the headers i have to make a 2 into 1 so thats an option if the system is restrictive.

The other thing is how far back would be the best place to join them? Are we talking where the stock headers usually join the cat pipe? further back?

Any updates on this beast?
And as far as the exhaust goes, I've heard it's best to run a collected system for more extreme n/a setups (I'm new to all this, so I can't really give you any specific info, haha) But there a numerous threads in this section that can shed more light on proper exhaust setup.

make sure ur using the right impedance injectors with your ecu.. high or low, according to your stand alone.. plus y not put your secondary injectors right under your primary injectors? on the same side.. im sure you know the injectors ur using are high impedance.. .12 ohms.. your ecu might needs lower .03 ohms.. good luck with your build.. we could see the hard work...

Had a couple of issue with sealing the injectors in the new rails. The old rubber seals where knackered so i had to wait to get some new ones before reinstalling. Aside form that shes ready to go.

I love it!!!! and its a daily driver!!!!

Dam thats sexy! You make me want to fill in my fresh street port and p-port my motor! Out of curiosity what bearings and oil mods do you have and what do you plan to rev it to?

The bearings etc are just new stock ones. I was considering the RB ones but after a few conversations with people i held off. Will be using RB ones for my 20B version.

Oil i have an aftermarket high pressure oil system from RB. Very nice little mod. Redline i'm not 100% sure yet want to get the thing run in the then see how far the mapping will let me go.

Just got the timing to do now hopefully that will get her running sweet.

You're not at all going to be happy with the power this engine makes. Without collecting the exhaust there is absolute no exhaust scavaeging and with the huge amounts of overlap a periport has you're going to recycle large amounts of exhaust into the intake stroke. I'll be very surprised if you can get this to idle below 1500 rpm and you're not going to make much over 200whp. You need a collected exhaust on anything more than a medium street port it's as simple as that. I gained 51 rwhp just by changing to a proper exhaust.

I'm kind of ready for having to collect on the system to be honest. I have a Titaimium cat back here that i may try and adapt to fit the FC. Get a collector on the headers i already have if i modifiy them a little.

After finding that i had NO fuel pressure at all and No time to do much work on this little beasty i have ordered new pipe for fuel rail (smaller bore), fuel pump and better pressure regulator hopefully we'll be runnig in properly very soon.

Mircotech is going in tomorrow so a nice few hours for wiring the engine for me. Totally changed the Exhaust on this as the true dual won't be appropriate for the Peripheral port set up i'm running.

Pic on the bench during welding, one after with the front half nearly completed with the silencer.

Made up the new loom today for the Microtech so thats ready to go in. Pretty much ready to fire up once thats in. Just waiting on a set of new trumpets with injector ports as i'm moving the primaries onto the ports on the ITB's and the secondaries to a pre butterfly position to allow more time for air/fuel to mix.

Electric fan to go on and debating about doing a electric water pump to get the super minimalist look. But concerns of electric water pump life.

Distributer set up has been lost in favour of electronic ignition and FC crank angle sensor. Works 10x better with the mircotech that way.

Wheels & tyres to go on tomorrow to 18x8.5 the front and 18x10's the rear so it will look nice and FAT

New exhaust finished. 2 into 1 with long primaries then 3" all the way through. King of the understated tips add to the sleeper look :smoke:

FAT rear wide arches you can see the extra width from the edge of the tyre.

Little bit of tidying of the looms and ally 'hide all the crap' behind cowl with the coil packs on top.

Just about managed to get the wheels on before going home.

A wee bit of suspension and chassis modding needed next.

sorry to thread jack mcarthy but for hyper i have a question what would be a proper exhaust for a stock port 13b motor?

Not much to shout about but a few pics of plates and wiring. Wiring is now all done except fuel pump but that can wait for now.

Ally plate made up to tidy the look of the front of the car. This is the mk1 version mk2 is on the way now i have all the correct measurments.

Main engine loom for the microtec was all made up as it didn't come with one.

Ignition coils from FD to provide a nice strong spark. Little blury but you get the idea.

Hey Im loving the project so a major thumbs up and i cant wait to here this thing fire up! Though out of curiosity I thought the fc coils were supposed to be stronger then the fd or rx8? Or mayber it was just the rx8 that were worse...

Cheers for the commemts.

The FD ones i always found very good. It was more that i had these lying around from putting the 20B in my FD that i used those ones. As the EGI was a distributer set up before.

got trumpets and rails now fduking long time tho! Anyway had her stared today. Needs bigger injectors and a decent map so a trip in the nearish future for a run in map.

Body work to be started soon. Wheels are goign gloss black, lump needs to come back out for paint to extend into the engine bay properly. She's going a metallicy pearly whitey colour. V nice indeed.

One thing though do you think that 14 peice 316 stainless water pipes are a tad over kill!!!!

the other arn't welded yet!
