Best Exhaust for N/A FC
Best Exhaust for N/A FC
Hey people,
Just wondering what exhaust gives the best gains for an 88 N/A FC. The car is stock at the moment but i don't want to buy a system twice so i want to buy the appropriate one now. 3 key future mods will be:
Large street port
56mm ITB
Microtech
Cork Sport headers
De-Cat pipe
Veiws on best perfomance cat back, idea of diameter? Would like to stick with twin exits like stock but would consider singles
cheers

for dual exhausts from brand name dealers like Apexi or HKS
would you buy the universal 2.5" muffler and weld it to the existing pipe because I don't find any application for rx7's
if so, I am interested in getting the HKS Hi-Power muffler found at

Racing beat is nice for a setup that is bolt up and gives a nice tone and a decent power gain, but this was for the best exhaust for an NA FC, and the best just isnt an RB system. Even with my SDJ and free flowing back half it is still lacking but I cannot free it up anymore due to amount of noise created.
I absolutely love mine, it's a little loud with the RB header and presilencer and the bridgeport, but when I put it on with the street port, it sounded awesome. Amazingly enough, though, if you want it quieted down, the silencer that goes in the tip of the muffler really quiets it down without limiting power too much on a decent tune (engine struggles past 8k with it in, without it spins happily to 9200). IMHO, if you run this exhaust on a stock 13b n/a, it's just way too big and you'll lose power, but if it's at least a large street port, it is a great system for the price. The only thing I don't like about it, though, is that it exits on the drivers side, not passenger for better weight balance (and the dB meter at the track is on drivers left)

I have the RB true dual and I used some header wrap from the header to the pre-silencer. I have to stick my head out the window to hear it. It is very quiet with it wrapped.

get the RB dual setup. its a bit on the pricy side but you will know where your money went. its relatively quiet for cruising, however when you start to get on the throttle there is a noticeable difference. you wont be dissapointed.
a header and 3" system with my mid pie will give you the highest gains and when run with a big ultra flow, borla or magnaflow will test in the 97-98db range with a turndown tail pipe.scca e-production big street port ported factory 91 intake my exhaust stock t-body 225-230 whp
