12a rebuild questions
Well I am gonna build my na 12a engine and I wanted some opinions on internal parts . 1 corner seals : should I use stock or atkins 2 apex seals , I was thinking of using mazda or rotary aviation ? 3 after lapping the irons I have read you need to do a hardening process. There are newer and better parts being made these days and I want to use the best quality parts available and not spend a fortune .

corner seals: stock with REW springs
apex seals: stock or Atkins with stock springs
you can get the side housings re-nitrided after lapping. that being said, you may still find yourself limited by the condition of your rotor housings and/or the availablity of decent "new" ones.

don't know any more about them than what i've read. i have used RA and Atkins so far, but have nothing to report on them. i would like to give Goopy a try in the near future simply because i've met Jonathan a few times now and i've seen firsthand some of the innovative things he does.
that said, it doesn't sound like much of the other seals offer much of anything unless you're going forced induction and trying to make big power. for your average N/A build i really feel it should be kept simple; OEM, maybe Atkins if budget is an issue.

Ive been seeing mention of using Rx-8 corner seals springs as well as front cover gaskets as the new "upgrade" over FD parts. When it comes to using non-refinished housings (as well as refinished) im liking my Goopy apex seals (and the over sized option for those worn out apex seal slots on the rotors is a godsend, and customer support is second to none)
