Southern New Mexico Rotary car meet

So, I've finally decided to start DOING stuff with all the 'rotorheads' down here (I've had the Las Cruces Rotary Car Club for quite some time now, but low attendance), and no better time to start then now!

I'm thinking either the first or second Saturday in December would be alright. We'll need to meet somewhere for some grub (somewhere where we can just chill out of we ain't eating), and then maybe a cruise either to Hatch or something (awesome road, but that depends on Gas Prices then!) afterward. If any of you has any parts that you're selling between each other, now would be a great time to trade up (no bothing with shipping it or meeting up alone!).

Give me your input

Jay

Jay - I think we could get the ABQ gang to "road trip" it south. I have a house in Williamsburg by TrC, so we could pit stop there either going or coming back. Would be a good run. The road over to Silver City thru Hillsboro (sp?) is cool also with the back door run to Socorro. Let us know on the date.

December 12th is the Tentative date for this. We'll either be having it at one of my friend's houses, the park, or CiCi's (or something), depending on who's going and what kind of food everyone likes. I'd prefer a BBQ, but CiCi's IS cheap, and all you can eat.

If we're Q'ing, try to bring some stuff down with you if you can I'm certainly not rich (more on the lines of broke), so I can't supply EVERYONE with food.

PM me or ask on here for details.

I don't want to get involved in any of this, but I also don't want to see a number of other 7 owners waste there time and money traveling to an event that may not materialize (but may not hear about it until you are there).

So, incase anyone is planning to attend the "Southern New Mexico Rotary car meet" (especially if you are driving in from outside of L.C.) I would suggest proceeding with caution. On more than one occasion Jays83gsl has been quite emphatic about his plans for attending various events, but has not followed through, such as his cancellation of the "Las Cruces Rotary Car Club's" trip to the RotaryRx BBQ hours before the event, and his not answering the phone the day before and the day the I-10 caravan left to 7stock 6, after repeatedly insisting he was going. In addition, I would encourage you to check out "Jays83gsl" thread under the good guy bad guy section, before deciding to attend his event.

If a number of people in the area do want to meet up, we could work out a neutral meeting place that did not depend on the plans of any individual.

Actually, those other two events (sevenstock 7, by the way ) were dependent on me having the gas money (and running car in the case of SS) to get to the place. Something always came up (repairs to a vehicle to be precise) that required me to not be able to spend travel expenses.

This is in town, so there's damn near zero travel expenses

It's still on for the tenth, but if I don't get contacted by anyone, I'm not holding anything (what's an event with only two or three people?!)

I know I'm new here, but I'm pretty into the rotaries.

I'll help Jay plan this, as we're in contact quite often (despite a debt to me!)

All I know is that Jay's a poor college kid, so it would be great if whoever comes could bring food/drink with them.

We'll figure out a location.

Okay, we've decided on a BBQ type of thing either at a place called "Young Park" or a friend of Jay's house (if Young is going to charge us).

We need an RSVP on this topic or PM one of us by the fifth, so we know wether to go through with this or not.

Starts at 1 PM.
I at least have chicken and hamburgers.

If 1 PM is too early, get ahold of me before hand.

I'd like for some more people to show up, but, if you don't wanna, then we don't need ya!

Glad I managed to get some time off from work and hop on and check this. Looks like everyone's been busy. I'm all-in on this just as long as I don't work mid-day that day (usually don't). Give me a time and location and I'll do my best to be there.

I don't have a banner, just the logo in the avatar

I'll get to working on it, though.
Thanks.

Hey, it was a small meet but it was a good one. I almost didn't want to leave we were having a good time just messin' around. You guys remind me of my fellow rotor bretheren back up in WA, just like to chill and have a good time together. Anyway, just hit me up if you guys want to hang out or something. My apartment is currently a mess because all I tend to do is work and sleep but I promise I'll clean it.

Yeah, sucked that I had to leave.

Oh well, we'll get together another time, and stay longer
And maybe more people will come. And I won't eat a hotdog that was lying on the ground, you bastard.

The hotdog wasn't my idea. :P And it's funny because I usually avoid the camera like it's the black death but it must have been my weasel magic. I've noticed I'm either in every picture or none at all... strange.

P.S. Also modded my sig because I forgot about my "bright as hell" H4 conversion until you commented on how bright they are.
