I hate to reschedule this meet for those who could have made it on the 23rd but can't make it on the 30th but today I looked up the weather on www.weather.com and it easily made up my decision showing the 30th is supposed to be 71% vs 56% and raining on the 23rd.

Very few meets do I actually call every person in my phone and I will be doing this to create a huge turnout. Even though this is an official Rotary meet....I opened the meet up to "all Mazda's" as well. I will be parking them in a different area. Please spread the word!

What: Mazda Meet
When: Sept 30th 2006
Where: Sil-terhar Mazda at 120th and Wadsworth
Time: 1:00pm - 3:00pm Then cruise to Blackhawk/Central city for pic's
Who to contact: Mike B 303-929-1998 or Adam 303-469-1801

Yeah sorry I cannot make the 30th. I am going to be out of state. But I could not have made the 23rd either. Your rain has been my snow those past few days and the RX is NO good through slippery passes.... But I will try and be at the march meet. as long as the passes are clear.....

Actually....let me guess....Super clean, no spoiler, painted red calipers, Aftermarket wheels with lots of "spokes". If you got close to it and looked inside, I bet it even had a radar detector mounted on the wind shield.

No I did not have a chance to get close. I was on my way to work so I did not stop. From what I could see very clean, nice red paint, spoiler, and stock rims....

Good news, I got out of my plans on Saturday and can make it to the meet.
Can't wait.

Also on my way to work I saw a stock grey/blue FC with a sunroof and stock spoiler on the corner of Circle and Union in the Springs, I have been seeing it every were the past few months but this was the first time I was in my FC. Know who it is?

Who ever is coming to the meet / cruise tomorrow (Sat Sept 30th at 1pm) at Sil-terhar Mazda (120th and Wadsworth), try to bring a FRS radio with you. You can buy them for $29 at Walmart or maybe even cheaper.....We will use channel 7. This will help us communicate what's ahead if you know what I mean.

Well there are a few reasons I wont go into but mainly I guess the $40 gas bill and 240 miles on my car...seemed more like a race than a cruise. I'll take blame for showing up late, but it wasn't cool that no one spoke up when it was time to leave and there wasn't anyone even in my car. Hell I didn't even get to meet anyone...oh well. I guess these cruises aren't really designed for us Springs people...

be glad you made it! I had a blow out at 90 miles an hour of one of my Falken FK-451? I basically didn't make it, lost over a $175.00 minus having to spend my day on the side of the freeway waiting for a tow truck while mac trucks wizz by and throw rocks up on my FD. I live farther away than Springs people and I know that only Mike B and I have met. Its like someone upstairs just doesn't want me to make it. I will say one thing, the ADR rims that I have survived the blowout without a scratch on them. Hail to ADR, most aftermarket rims would have been done, don't ask me how I know. I guess I will make it one day or be the lonely FD hermit of Northern Colorado. Really sucks.

Actually, to 120th, the Springs is the longer drive. Sorry to hear about the blow out.

I for one really enjoy these meets. It's great that Mike puts his time into it to get us together.

The $40 gas bill I can't control, if I held the meet in the Springs we would have 3 - 5 people show up....not fun

As far as it seeming like a race? There were several people who wanted to do some spirtited driving. That's why I set up 3 groups....Fast, Mediuim, and Slow. If you were the only one who wanted to drive slow, I'm sorry....I figured there would be more people who wanted to check out the scenery.

You need to realize that we had been there since 1pm "meeting people". The cruise was scheduled to leave at 3pm and we were waiting for you to get there so we could leave. Many people were getting impatient as they waited over a half hour for you to get there. I didn't realize when you got there you were not going to be ready to leave. We ended up waiting for you anyways at Golden Gate Canyon Rd.

When we got into Blackhawk we all met on the "private" road above Ameristar as stated on the map....you should have stopped to hang out.

I hope everyone else had fun as it would be a huge waste of my time if everyone had this negitive view of the meet.

I think it's great he does too... unfortunatly I didn't have my fd or my fc up there but I still showed up in my subaru! AND it was nice talking to new people, I havn't seen that many rotories in one place... shoot one meet I went to had 1 fd and 1 fc over at pinkeys like 2 years ago. So I definantly think our rotory community is getting closer and showing the want to meet up, next time we should do a bbq on lookout mountain... I remember when we did that for our drift club and there was a good turnout and great food!

That's too bad this happened to you! There's always next time....I gave one of your buddys the dash parts for you to fix since you didn't show up....He told me what happened. As long as people are still interested in having a meet next March hopefully you can make that one.

I still have pictures of the 1st meet I organized with only 4 cars....Me, Matt, Steve (sold his FD), and Brandon (who moved to NJ)

Then the next meet we had 7 cars show up and it was the coolest thing seeing this many Rotaries in one place

It grew to 20, then 30......

This last meet we would have had 50 if all the 2nd gens would have showed up! The only 2 that showed up drove all the way from Wyoming! Our last meet we had 12 1st and 2nd gens and this time only 4 total. I never heard from Paradox Racing to get the names and numbers for them so I couldn't call them.

Anyone have pic's they can post?

Didn't seem like there was 3 groups...

I'm glad people waited but I was left behind anyways...

I know the $40 gas bill isn't your concern but it's ridiculous to drive that far then to drive further away and have to spend 3 hours driving back home.

I know a Springs meet isn't practical and I'm not suggesting that but somewhere that is somewhat close for Denver and Springs people would be nice... but no worries, it seems since Colo Springs people are the minority it doesn't really matter.

Great effort but I just don't see myself racking up 220 miles in one day again.

Well it's only twice a year that we meet, I think your outlook on the meet would be much better if......

A. You showed up on time

and

B. Your car was running right so you could actually have fun.

As far as the meet being at Sil-terhar Mazda again....I don't know. I have held meets at Gateway Mazda in Aurora, Hamburger stand in Lakewood/Green Mountain, Northglenn, and central Denver.

I was hoping Sil-terhar could do a better job advertising the meet to RX-8 owners then they did. If anyone has any good idea's for future meets, let me know.

Na Mike, thats cool. I didn't mean to be negative. I was just making light of mpfcc had said. I was real disappointed to not have made it this time too. I was up at six in the morn making sure I was ready to go. It was like a day at the track for me but I didn't race anyone. Blown tires and ****. I guess I am glad the rim was not damaged and I was still close to the house. Mike I commend you on the organization of the meets and I will do everything to be there next time. BTW, Mike I will get those heater grills from Greg tommorrow and get to working those out, Sorry we always miss each other, wait til you hear the stereo, you will be proud.
