Ongoing New Mexico thread
I'm all for getting the ls1 guys out there. Invite any 7 or rotory swaped car. I will try to make it guys, but got a long drive home. If I don't make it someone get the guys together and get a idea for next months meet. It really sucks that I pushed for this and I don't even know if I'm going to make it, but I will make the second meet.
****, so it turns out I won't be attending this event. Instead I will be moving, as well as selling my 86 N/A. Here's the link if you are interested. http://albuquerque.craigslist.org/cto/1784262351.html
So how did the meet go? I just shot out there for a second and only saw a FC and FB racing and a nice red FB parked. I got in late last night and I sitll need to unpack so that is why I didn't stay long. So sorry about that. My wife wants to start racing with you guys so don't be supprised if you see a 86 out there soon. Also did anyone decide on a place to meet up for our next meet? I will be there this time.

This event was a lot of fun. There were both high and low speed sections as well as technical elements that required precise vehicle control. SMS is a great venue, and with the new connector sections it can support a decent autocross configuration as well.
For the next meet, I would suggest one of the Cars, Coffee, and Chile events at SMS. These are social meet-and-greet type events with a driving component (if you want). There is plenty of time for hanging out and talking cars, as well as an opportunity to drive the road course (slow or at speed). I can post details when the next event is advertised.
Cool, more Rx-7's are always welcome! The next scca event is July 11th in Santa Fe. Check out www.rgrscca.com for more details, be nice to have a resurgence in the Rx-7 representation. Make sure Phil (DamionSoul) keeps you in the loop for the next event at SMS too! I won't be there for that one.
The 3 of us have been running in a new class called STR (Street Touring Roadster), last time in Santa Fe the three of us were within .08 seconds of each other.
Shift and I are sharing the FB on the track, the red FB you saw was mine. Possibly the only FB in the state with original intact Storage Bin plastic hinges!
So you said before that you were possibly getting a house in Rio Rancho, is that where you're living now?

Well like I said I just came to check it out to see if anyone was still there. I knew it was late but I still wanted to see what the track was like. I want to start getting into the events and so does my wife, so I would like the info and I think it would be a good place to meet. I know everyone said that they would come out but I think some people just didn't want to drive that far out. If everyone is up for a local meet in town at a sonic or something, lets decide on time and place. Hopefully we will get more people to show up.
This is late notice even for me, but there's a Cars, Coffee, and Chile event this Saturday at SMS from 8 am to noon. From what I've been told it is $20 if you want to drive and you get coffee and breakfast burritos. Seems like it's free to spectate or just hang out. This is probably too short notice for a meet, but it's a pretty good deal for $20.
Well I'll go just to check it out, but I got somethings to do in the morning. I'll be there at 9:00, so if I see you there guys I'll see you then. On the Sonic meet where is a good Sonic? I have had hit and miss on them and if we are going to hang out at one I'm going to get some food so which one is the best? Since I don't know the area that well give me a good Sonic, and lets make the meet on a Sunday like around six. I like Sunday meets because I do **** on the weekend and Sunday is kick back day. What does everyone think? Also when? I know everyone has been saying lets do a sonic meet so when? Next week the week after or next month?
No worries. It was too late of notice for me to make it and I'm not sure if anyone else is going. I just switched to r-compound rubber and I don't know if I'll have enough for track days and auto-x to last the season. Once I get some street tires for my RX-7 again I'll be able to make these kind of track events.
Well I have been down for a couple of days and it seems like nobody wants to do a meet so I tell you what I'm going to set a date and time and we will see who shows up. It seems like everyone wants a meet but nobody wants to show up. So Sunday I'm going to go to Sonic off of Bridge Boulevard SW and get a drink. I'll hang out and see if anyone decides to show. If you do I'll see you there. I know it's a late notice but **** nobody wants to do anything. We need to get together and at least meet each other, so we can at least help each other out. I have lots of tools and air tools and wielders that are just sitting around waiting for something to work on.
I'm cool with Saturday, but I want to change it to the Sonic on Central. It has a better entry to drive into. So is 6:00pm good? Oh and if anyone needs some interior parts I might have them but they need to be repaired. I have a 93 with tan interior for you guys looking for some interior. I mainly just have the door panels and black plastic from the gauge cluster to the center console. Where is the SCCA event? I would like to check it out.
This whole weekend won't work for me. Saturday my brother, his fiancee, and I are cleaning up my backyard in preparation for their wedding reception next Saturday. Sunday morning and afternoon is the autocross, and Sunday evening is my brother's "bachelors party". Considering that my brother's wedding is the weekend after that, I'll be busy for the next two weekends. This has been a really busy summer for me. I hope you guys can work something out for a social meet.
