Yea I have a motor now. I told you I was gonna drop a 572 in it. HA HA just kidding! I got all my stuff that I needed today like the intake manifold gaskets and o rings. Some exhaust gaskets and a 3 in flange so I can get the rest of the exhaust done. And now on my install I ran into the problem of that I now need a S5 turbo oil return line. And I have an S4 turbo oil return line. But other than that everything else is going smooth. So Im gonna see if i can make a line or just see if I can find one here online or sumthin. So Hopefully I can maybe have it possibly running tomorrow. I will soon see...

Hey Elijah18
I spotted a 1st gen with new white paint a couple of times today, LOOKING GOOD!! Not sure if it was you but if it was you need to check your tail lights. The brake lights are lighting up the back-ups, so white lights on braking. Just thought you would like to know

Well she runs but the Turbo is for some reason really broken. Wheels making contact and it is binding like mad. Time for it to come out and hope I don't get raped for a rebuild.
Now I have to wait and see what is going on with the Turbo. Warranty job or not etc. After that its timing lock and see if I have reluctor issues. Sure hope not. On the bright side everything that I thought would **** up hasn't so far and its just a simple Turbo jobey.

Well never mind the Turbo is binding because about a 1 inch by 3 inch piece of my exhaust port sleeve is torn off and is now in the center section of the turbo. All the apex seals are fine so no contact with the internals and motor wise is fine other then the sleeve. It seems that one of those flames came with some crazy *** shrapnel.
Anyway anyone ever change an exhaust sleeve. It will be easy to get out as most of it is blown off anyway. I have rotary AIDS

Well mine runs with some flooding issues. But I did the temporary fix with the fuel pump cut off switch. So now I can acutally drive it around without having to worry about leaving it running. Also figured out the turbo oil return problem with some AN fittings, braided oil hose, and some help from auto world to make me a AN fitting for my front cover with my supplied parts. I was really glad that I didnt have to order and wait the part. So at least that all came together well. I'm also thinking of getting my injectors reconditioned today. That should help out with some other possible problems too. So hopefully we can get something going before it decides to get into some shitty weather.

Yeah Motor is coming back out and taking a trip. Looking pretty doubtful that the car is going to go anywhere this year. Gonna be another $1500 to replace the housing and another $350 to $400 for a Turbo Reman. Or I can just reman the Turbo and run the engine with a blown up exhaust sleeve.
Don't catch my Aids.

WOW man...I hope that is covered by them. Sounds like a perfect time to upgrade the turbo
My FC is finally alive and kicking. Idles great BUT I am studying how to tune with the PFC and it is very in depth. Intersting none the less and I really enjoy learning this.
I will be doing some data logging this weekend with IF the air temps are in the low 80's high 70's.
Sorry to hear about the problem Ransom, this summer seems dead set on not letting our cars drive on the streets of Great Falls.
Matt: glad to hear you and I cured the problem. Simple **** is always the issue isn't it?

Couple differences you have a higher compression motor. An electric oil metering pump and your radiator is a little different. Other then that its small differences like different tranny mounts etc. When is labor day Monday?

And also Oil pressure thing again. Im hoping its just the regulator or something. But it seems like it has a bleed off or somthing cause i watch it it seems to drop slowly then holds but not that high. It might be the oil heating up and thinning out. I am running the reccomended 20w50 for summer. But its enough for now with the normal driving im doing. At least I eliminated one problem its not the gauge cause I checked it with another one. Better figure this problem out this time.

Ha ha. no way. I saw you on your way back towards helena i think. It was on sunday or somthing. I kinda stared for a second and noticed ive never seen the blue S5 na running around before. Mine was the red sport with the black turbo hood. Im pretty sure you saw me. Looked like you were looking back at me. We are all pretty helpful around here. So pretty sure we will help out.

Good news I took the Turbo apart today to retrieve the hunk of metal and check out the carnage. There wasn't any in fact everything looks fine. The fins don't have a mark on them not even black rubbed off anywhere. I am going to bolt it back up when the motor comes back and run it. The hotside has some cracks on the inside but oh well. The crate should be here next week sometime and my motor should be off for fixin by the following.
We should all start thinking about this cruise or whatever. We can cruise to my cabin and have a bbq or something. Drive the loop to 200 and come back to town or whatever. I am sure we will have enough empty seats for gimpys.
