Well, we usually are lol. I've been down for a couple years, and a few other guys have been down for a while, but several of our guys are still on the road and occasionally do cruises, fun drives, or meets. lOOkatme is up and running right now and is usually out, for one. I'll have my car back late next month and I plan to do A LOT of driving to make up for the lost time.

Welcome to CO! We do have a large group here in the Springs, and I know there are a lot in the Denver area too but I don't hear much from them anymore. I'll PM you my number.

We definitely need to take over now. We should have the entire group up and running for next year. Should be epic especially with all the people moving here.

Oh OK. I had the choice of going there or coming here when I PCS'd here in 08, and honestly I think I'd have been happy in either place, but this was closer to home. I wouldn't mind coming up to visit sometime though. The pics always look beautiful. Maybe I'll do a road trip in the car and meet the guys up there too lol.

Hey guys, I'm Brad, new to the forum, I live in Denver. I've got an '87 TII, you'll all hate me as I decided to swap over to an LS motor, but it would still be cool to tag along if you guys still meet up at all, if I ever get this car put back together that is.

Well everyone, I am trying to put the MB 93 back on the road. The car runs pretty decent needs some new turbos. I gave it a tune up, new plugs and wires oil change and tried to get pass emissions test and it really wasn't close. HC and CO were about 3 times the limit. It has a downpipe and Power FC. Pretty sure its running a base map and rich and that's why its failing. That and i didnt do all the other tricks to get it to pass. I am so done with emissions. I can't really make any power mods and expect it to pass. speedjunkie you had PMd me your address to register the car in CO Springs is that still possible or did someone notice you had 25 RX7s registered to your address and close that loophole?

I'm assuming you mean an aftermarket downpipe? Did they fail you on visual for missing the precat? Guy up here in Fort Collins did.

Do you have a factory midpipe with good condition cat and functioning air pump? Beyond the tune, those items are the biggest assist to passing emissions.

The car has been parked for about 3 years with an occasional crank up, warm up, drive around the block 1st/2nd gear pulls slam on the brakes. It passed in 2011 and I have no reason to believe other than the failed test that the airpump, and cat are not functioning. I suppose its possible the Power FC is not controlling the air pump properly now after being disconnected from battery for months at a time. I cant really tell without some help. However, if i want to free up the exhaust, get a single turbo, and do the things i would like to do with the car i need to register it to a physical address outside of the AirCareColorado region. Such as summit county, Pueblo county, parts of El Paso County. I just dont want to be hassled every two years to change back everything and detune the car and hard wire the air pump and run denatured alky........ and the other 50 tricks people have to do to get these cars to pass. I just want to pay my registration and be free to work on the car as a hotrod/collector car. It will never be driven extensively enough to put half the pollution out that most cars do.

I believe I still have several cars registered here. I get notices every now and then for registration renewal but some of those cars have been sold I believe haha. I'm not sure if it's legal anymore, but it's worth a try. Emissions is such a freakin scam. Funny that they supposedly care for the environment but have no problems polluting an entire damn river. **** THE EPA!

Hi Guys, new FD owner 93 Montego Blue. I'm currently doing a lot of work on my car. Its completely stock except for a aftermarket AST, and a exhaust system that the pervious owner fabbed up together....

Anyway Im trying to get my car fixed up and made road worthy by the end of September and hopefully have it ready for the October cars and coffee boulder/lafayette.

I would love to do some sort of cruise next month or so if you guys are down. Oh and also any FD owners in boulder beside David and I?

Did you just buy the car or just move to the area? Welcome to the car group or the area, whichever has happened recently lol. What all do you have to do to the car to make it roadworthy?

I wouldn't mind doing another Mt Evans cruise sometime soon. 2008 was my first and only trip up there.

I just bought the car. I'm actually not 100% sure what I need to do.... Before I bought the car I did a compression test and got 95-95-95 and 98-95-97. The car smokes a bit from the exhaust and the engine bay. The smoke is not coolant burning but probably either gas or oil. The smoke smells like a old american muscle car/ sports bike with an exhaust on it. I just changed out the fuel pump and and changed the rear fuel lines, next step is changing fuel filter and then going to injectors if the smoke continues. The car drives but something is going on with it. Around 4K the car feels like it looses power and barely accelerates.
