Hey, welcome. I'm in Rio Rancho too. River Edge II. I'm new to the forums but not new to RX-7's. Just re-entering the realm of the 7's with a new acquisition. Been quite a while since I drove one and yeah it's fun.
In fact my wife drove mine the other day and said,"you can't go slow in that thing can you?" I was like "yeah you can", she was like "no you can't, that thing's fun to drive!"

Yes and no, It's the first one I've owned. But back in 1982 I shared one with my room-mate while I was in the Navy. He was the owner, I just drove and helped maintain it a lot. Here's the pic I promised. Does anyone know if this paint matches an original scheme? I haven't seen any others like it so far, and the owner said he was trying to match it to the original whne he had it painted about 5 years ago.

Welcome to the forum. Are you interested in autocrossing your 7? The SCCA is having an event in town next weekend. I'll post more info soon.

Hey, nightrider, can you get a pic of your dad's 7? I'd like to compare them.

I'm old, 48.

And thanks for the invite but I'm way too busy for auto-crossing. I coach volleyball at Rio Rancho High, takes all of my patience and time too.

kencunm, that paint job looks like the trim that my dads fb had. I had never seen another fb that had that. His wasn't paint though, his was aluminum trim that foled that same path down the side of the car. You paint loks better than the old oxidized Al did on his car, with the new paint job he pulled them off and grund the rivets down and welded off the holes that were left, and now it looks sooooo much better. Your fb is nice, its good to see unmolested rx-7s.
