Cool June 5 Exotic Sports Car Show

Has anyone from the Burger meet thought about or signed up for the car show on june 5 at the Arapahoe comm. college? Remember the price increase date. I need a count to secure a good spot next to the Ferraries not the PT Cruisers....

I should be there as a spectator, don't think the car is the best looker so I'll deal with it.

Even if my TII were running, it still wouldn't sit well next to a pampered Porsche. While its paint is still glossy w/ minimal fading and spidercracking, it is a 16 year old car and it certainly has its scars to show it's age and use. I think a lot of us are in the same boat.

Honestly, I'm less interested now in keeping the car clean and more interested in driving the living crap out of it. I wanted to go to this, but the paint isn't up to par for a concours event. Besides, I'm gonna be working on burning holes in the pavement that day!

Why the hell wouldn't a clean, nice, and fast 2nd Gen (or 1st Gen for that matter) be able to participate? ONE good reason!

This is precisely the type of arrogance that I despise; but I suppose that attitude will fit right in at a car show filled with Porsches, Ferraris, Lamboghinis, and the like.

Good day to you sir.

I don't mean to be rude, and I love the 3rd gen Rx, but the fact is NO Rx-7 is an exotic car. If you guys think your 3rd gens are exotic, you're kidding yourselves. If it's a car show of only Supras, 3000GTs and Rx-7s, it's not an exotic car show.

ex·ot·ic ( P ) Pronunciation Key (g-ztk)
adj.

  1. From another part of the world; foreign: exotic tropical plants in a greenhouse. See Synonyms at foreign.
  2. Intriguingly unusual or different; excitingly strange: “If something can be explained simply, in a familiar way, then it is best to avoid more exotic explanations” (Chet Raymo). See Synonyms at fantastic.
  3. Of or involving striptease: an exotic dancer.
Which definition of exotic do you want? RX-7s certainly fit into #1, though most people use "import" for that classification. RX-7s fit into #2 definitely (how many other cars use an engine that most people have never even heard of?); and having a nice RX-7 could probably help you get involved with a stripper--exotic dancer--if you're into that kind of thing.

How are RX-7s not exotic again? They might not have a $50000+ price tag attached to them like Porsches and the like, but they certainly fit the term and do it with style.

So is this an exotic car show, or a show for the prohibitively expensive automobiles only?

Is it hard to find an Rx-7? Are they rare? Looking at cars.com and autotrader.com in Denver, there are about 7 3rd gens for sale. Are they expensive or exclusive? They're cheaper than the average family sedan or minivan.

By the definition above, the LeCar is exotic.

I know I see more $150K Porsche's and ferrari's than FD's. I would say that they are exotic. Plus, I would like to see one of those cars hang with a nicely modded FD. If you have a black R1 or CYM, then it's definately rare......... Matt.

With 7 third generations for sale in CO on cars.com, and that doesn't seem rare to you, if there was 4 in a metropolitan area for sale, would it change your mind? My guess is there are about 6,000 left or so still running and on the road, with how many in all the production year? What I am getting is that your definition purple82 of exotic is expensive not rare.
