Denver Area - Auto Painting Recommendations

Anyone in the Denver area have their car repainted? Any good recommendations on quality shops? I live in Golden area, I found a few in Lakewood however would be interested in any recommendations from others who may have had it done. Thanks! Jon

A place that is mid range price wise, is Hopps auto body on Hampden just west of santa fe.... I had my 2nd gen painted there with minimal body dings for 3500.

Concours Cars Of Denver, Vintage auto tech and collision, and Mattocks Bros. All depends on how much you want to spend on a paint job...

$3500 is not a bad price, I think someone asked above, how did it come out? I am having my wing painted to match at Cars Collision in Lakewood, I inquired about painting and they said anywhere from $4-6k

I ended up going to Cars Collision over in Lakewood, just having my new wing painted for now ($125+tax). I was going to do the mirrors but I realized what a PITA they are to take off and I did not have time, should have planned better but a good shine will keep them going for a while! : )

Once Rhymin opens up his shop, you can have him do it. He is the one who painted my FD. I have yet to see anyone paint black better than him since it will show any flaw. As far as other colors it might not matter as much.

What about powder coating. I want to get my 18" wheels done up with a bit of black powercoat. Basically wanna leave the hub silver and the lip silver, but the spoked black. Anybody know any really good powdercoating places?

Yeah unfortunately I heard some dissatisfaction from CARS from another firend of mine who used them. My experience thus far is this...first he said bring a sample or the paint code, so I brought a sample and he said he needed the code. I then called in a few hours later with the code, but the lackey who took the code decided not to tell anyone, and also did not write it down correctly/ledgibly. They called me a few days later and asked if I had the code, I let them know I had called in, she found it but could not read it...the next day I confirmed the code again.

Got the wing back on Monday, looks pretty good, need to install this week and bring back so they can wet sand it more, they could not get it as good as they wanted because it does not sit well and they could not apply the type of pressure they needed. Does it match? Seems a little light however the GM assured me that if it was not right, they would repaint at no charge to ensure satisfaction. After loosing a bit of confidence in the staff initially the GM restroed my confidence and was really good, they could use that down the chain of command. We'll see how it turns out! I would ideally like to repaint but not sure if 3-4k is in the budget right now, but you never know! I appreciate the recommendations and will keep them in mind if I decide to go further with a total repaint!

Might want to check out The Paint Booth near Evans little east of I-25. When I went in there they had some high end cars in there getting some work done. I never had any work done there but just an idea of a place to maybe talk to.

The paint codes great as long as your repainting the whole car over. Due to the sometimes 10's of different color variances, generally with reds and whites. Not to mention the 10 to 12 years of sun fading. Taking a sample panel also has it's dissadvantages due to how easily accesable and or removable the closest ajacent panel(s) to what your trying get to match the rest of the car. Generally a good bodyshop will want the car and then blend onto the closest ajacent panel(s) limiting the point of it sticking out like a sore thumb, this would be the preferred method but also costs a bit more...

I think I know which one you are talking about in Commere City. Somewhere near 88th on East side of I-76?

Well I finished putting it on yesterday, they had some wet sanding to finish up this morning (it needed to be on the car since they could not find solid footing for it in the shop). I must say after all I am very pleased, the color came out great and overall happy! I will have to post some pics shortly....thanks, Jon
