Albuquerque - Last Local Autox @ Sagebrush

This just might be the last local autox of the year. The venue is Sagebrush church on Sunday November 18th. It's free, however this time around it's also a potluck so you'll have to bring something to eat. Details here:

http://racingsouthwest.com/forums/in...howtopic=51150

I'm still undecided as to whether I'll make this event or not. Stephen's car is broke, and my car is breaking. I know of at least one other 7 that will be there, so it would be great to get some rotary representation for this last event of the year. Maybe I'll go after all, and put Beelzebub through its paces one more time before it gets prepped for next season.

I had a Probe GT about 10 years ago. It was a fun car. If you can't get your FC together by Sunday, the Probe should do just fine in Sagebrush's small parking lot. Two of the fastest guys in the state should be there, and they both drive front wheel drive cars. Of course, the more sevens the better.

haha ya mine is a 89 gt. Its good in the straight line, but the clutch is slowly letting go from all the power haha. Ya got to love the FWD! I am actually good friends with the guy who owns the gold saturn. I had one built pretty much like his is...then I turboed it and blew it up.

Did you go last time(dont recall seeing a rx)? You might have seen my corolla I traded for my fc.

No, I didn't make the last one. I saw that Jerred and David were the two fastest guys there. Doesn't surprise me since they are usually in the top ten at local SCCA events. Jerred let me drive his Saturn at an SCCA novice school. It was a blast, but I still like my FC more.

ya they are a blast! Usually with SCCA you have to pass a tech here you dont even have to do that. Not saying it is a good idea to race with an unsafe car. ANyone can race aslong as they have a car and it has insurance.

Today's event was a lot of fun. We had a total of four rotaries (three FCs and a RX-8). Would be nice to see this kind of rotary turnout at every event. I suspect that there are many 7s out there that see no kind of track time whatsoever. Thanks to all that showed up.

I was pleasantly surprised with this auto-x. They put a lot of time and effort into each event, and are a staple to the community. Next season I expect the 7's to come out in full force.

Double True!!
This was my first event period and I am a little upset that I hesitated so long!!
Church Autox's are indeed the best spot for a novice to try this out( Especially if you own an NA LOL!!)

would be easier if the NA's had power steering too there were 2 right hand turns that just killed all my speed.

Yeah, we did quite well. All of us were above the average lap. Some people were cheating and skipping the slalom, which brought the average lap lower. Guess they don't DNF for skipping part of the course at Sagebrush.

You can easily fit a Falken Azenis 205/50R15 on the BBS wheels. They're $79 each from Vulcan Tire:
http://www.vulcantire.com/azenis_rt615_t.htm

These would give you the biggest improvement in performance without going to a racing compound.

Hey Mike, Would you be interested in some slicks and wheels for next season?? I'm co-driving Philips car next season and won't need them. If you're interested in SCCA (think sagebrush on steroids) you'll need them. Especially with your beast Just putting it out there for ya.
