*NEW* Motec M84

http://www.motec.com.au/m84/m84overview/

It is basically cut down M800 hardware with fixed outputs, logging and single onboard lambda enabled, a single EGT input (requires external amp) etc.
I think it would be idea for a LOT of 2 rotors, being that you can have dual Lambda (second Lambda is an enable option) and dual EGT (second EGT on the single User definable AV).
It has been released to fill the void that will be left at that end of their product line when the M1 ones out.

Just a heads up, something to check out.

Yeah, can't wait for these and priced at $2550 MSRP they're a steal for their capabilities..

*Note, it will support 3 or even 4 rotors...*

WOW.. for someone already in EFI purgatory, now I have another temptation!

Aaron, I assume the price you mentioned is without harness?

It is without the harness. However, I also noticed that John Reed Racing listed the upgrade options as much cheaper for this ECU as well (Motec US hasn't updated their catalog yet). I am anxiously awaiting the software release so I can see what differences it will have with version 3.

Note that it has locked table axis, only scale can be changed.
Also CAN channels are locked, so those looking to use it as part of a larger setup (with ADL3/PDM etc) may be limited to a degree. Check first.

I am planning on using this new ECU in my race car as I move to a 20b. I moved to the motec PDU last season and love it.

I will be posting a full build thread on the 20b move and it will include ECU notes as they come up.

Right on Damian!! I'll look forward to your updates since I'm very much interested in the real-world application of this model.

Some pics below of my FD. It was one of the first RX-7's fitted with an M84 according to the helpful guys at MoTeC R&D in Australia who helped my very committed installer and tuner iron out all the bugs in readiness for the cars first event - Targa Tasmania.

Although running a twin turbo set up at the 2011 event, the car is now going through an upgrade, including the install of a single turbo. The MoTeC setup includes M84 with advanced options, SDL, SLM, GPS, boost controller and a host of sensors.
