WTB Transmision ASAP

Looks like I will need a new trans. Somthing let lose inside an put a hole in the case right next to the fill plug. It actually still shifts through all the gears fine and only makes a rattling sound in all gears (might be only be because of low fluid?).

Not to sure on if I will have it welded up and rebuilt or just swap out to a used one, or upgrade to a jap spec with the different gear ratios.

Any sugestions would be great.

Thanks
Brandon

I'm pretty sure that I know what happened. A bolt backed itself out inside and got thrown around (Causing the hole).

Same thing happened to me, same spot. This happened to my old transmission. I simply pulled the back of the case off, pulled the bolt out (Put a new one in) and flushed the transmission. I patched the hole up with Liquid Steel and it worked like brand new.

Sweet, thats good stuff right there. I will have to try this as my first step.

I still might be interested in a spare trans though.

Thanks
Brandon

Lupe:
Did you remove the trans or were you able to take the back half off when it was still in the car?

I have my original. Worked well other than the 4th sync which would really only grind if you slammed it in. May not be for you, but thought I'd offer.
