Wichita, KS People???

was curious how many wichita folks are even on here... i guess tomorrow im going to look at a 93 r1 roller that needs a lot of tlc. i've pondered a project 7 for a long *** time honestly with all that i'd like to do and such. if there are any of you that see this by then pm me if you're free sometime tomorrow... i most definetly wouldnt mind a rotor head coming to help me figure out what all the thing would need.

anyways hope to see a few here!

damn i figured you all were right near kansas city ahhahahahah good 2.5 hours from me hell... there are two fc guys i know down here, one im good friends with and one i kinda just know. i've wanted a rotor car for a good ooooooooh about 7 years.... still notta.

i didnt get to go look at the fd that's a roller here in town got too busy working on my house... go figure. i think i'll pass on it... guy wants 3 grand and i guess there is pretty much no front end, no motor, no transmission, no wiring harnesses, and he got all the interior stuff for a rhd conversion but nothing moved over mechanically for it. oh and no seats either... sooooo sounds like a hell of a lot more work then i can do for right now.

anyone know of some cheap fd's with a blown motor in good shape? lol!!!

well caught wind of another fd for sale here the other day, i've been digging to find out who and where... tracked it down to a rough area that it's in and who owns it. got a person that looked at it already talking to the owner about me i guess since he couldnt afford it. dont know a lot of details yet but i might go look at it today if i get a call if not hopefully this weekend.

well guys i need some advice... went and looked at a 93 7 here saturday... not sure what exactly to think on it as of yet.

went and looked at it... going for 9 grand, not too bad off honestly. needs paint and a few small interior peices for sure (possible door pannels and little things). it wasnt cleaned up at all so dont judge it too aweful... cause it did look rough but it sits a lot apparently. he was going to swap the wheels for stockers i dont get the volk te's lol. also going to swap to a newer steering wheel (cause the one was shot), along with a few other little added things.

things i dont like i'd for sure need to fix... paint, little interior peices, power steering needs to go back on, a/c needs to go back on... that's the bulk of it. i'd need to swap turbo set ups cause the stock twins oil seals are starting to fail. sooooo i'll need to swap those out if i buy this... which i'd go to a t04e or a gt35 and shoot in the low 400's for power.

perks of this... it has a hell of a ****** mod list.
street ported motor, turbo back exhaust, peter ferral front bumper, boost gauge, temp, water, a/f, ecu flashed for 13psi, turbosmart manual bc, ignition amp, plug wires, ngk plugs, pettit intercooler, air duct, ast (air seperation tank), pulley kit, intake hard pipes, hks ssq bov, light fly, clutch, pressure plate, elbow, torque brace, turbos made non sequential, cross/slotted rotors, hawk pads, sslines, short shifter, r1 sued seats, battery relocation, strut bars, supra fuel pump... then a few other mic things.

here are the pictures... im contimplating it... need to dig a little on what it costs for some of the stuff i'd need to do. i've got two weeks to make up my mind while he's outta town

http://s232.photobucket.com/albums/e...ossible%20buy/

so what im wanting to know from you all are how hard would it be to put power steering and a/c BACK onto the car? you might be able to tell from the pictures there i honestly dunno it looked like it had block offs or something put on it. then again i havent messed with a rotor motor period just read stuff on them and all that. now he didnt have the parts or the pullys either since he bought it like that.

too something else i dont follow... the ride was rough as all f'in get out for a touring. back in 02 i looked at a base model and it road pretty nice compaired to this lol! so im wondering what might cause that, i plan on replacing for some coilover or something at the least. but this thing road like a damn brick lol!!!!

now too he's got a white one that he's thinking of selling and i told im i wanna know if he wants to sell that cause i might be more apt to like that one more since im not overly big on black really... also it's been parked inside compaired to this. plus it's got a few 99 spec goodies already

let me know what you all think!!!

I live a few minutes from Wichita.
That car looks a bit...rough. It has had quite a bit of 'work' done to it but...I question the quality of some of it....
How many miles on the engine and/or chassis?
What is the gauge in the driver's door for? That is just silly....you have to take your eyes off the road to look at it.
Door panels are HIGH dollar...about $1800 a piece.
As for re-doing the a/c and power steering....it shouldn't be too hard, the p/s will be easier than the a/c but bothe easily doable by a decent mechanic. You will have to get a new dryer and get the system checked out for leaks and re-charged with Freon....that car had R-12 which is roughly as expensive as plutonium, so you should consider converting to another refrigerant if you purchase the car. A new compressor that runs R-134A runs about $250 but...you need to have the brackets and tensioner and of course the correct new belts.

I dunno...that car just looks like it hasn't been well taken care of. Dirty, dusty...covers missing off of the relays and fuse box....broken a/c vents....it would definitely be a project but if it doesn't smoke or overheat and still boosts good...it is definitely worth considering.

I think this car was owned by the cat who had an import shop on Central....saw it sit outside along side the white one as well...don't know much about the cars...I never heard good or bad about the shop. I'm in Newton, not well versed with FD but do know the rotary thing pretty well. I'm selling my RX8, watch for it on 35, silver, tint, spoiler....interested?....anyways...."bajaman" is probably most versed FD cat in close area....

bajaman... what's your name? lol i think when i was doing a meet a loooong time ago you gave me your number to see if you'd come out.

anyways... well the car is pretty rough... i've seen a few door pannels going online and stuff along with some the p/s set up, sooooo im all over the place on what im thinking. i am thinking this might be a little more then i want to chew on right off the bat. the gauge in the door is a water temp gauge, i dont think it's hooked up either (the guy has 3 fd's and they all have it there i think, i know two did) i'd wanna move them all up to the dash anyways cause of the same reason you said... to SEE them! the a/c thing is a VERY nice need to know there because i really didnt know about that.

i know most of how the car is IS how he bought the car a good while back.... miles on the car itself is 123k and miles on the motor he thinks is around 30 to 40k he was trying to find the papers that the old owner gave him with that and the dyno information. supposedly the old owner had the motor work and tune done from some shop that has to do with peter ferral (i'll tell you if i find out)... as for how the car ran... it sits a while (which i know isnt great, but he says he starts it about once a month and lets it run a while) it took a minute to start up but after it did... little white smoke originally and when it warmed up it was mostly gone. there was a little after the car ran for a bit but im guessing it's coming from the turbo seals that are going... (could be wrong).

he has another white one that i am really wanting to get some info on... it isnt drove much either but atleast it's in far better shape and mostly stock. plus it sits in a garage instead of out in the sun all day long. i'll know more when he comes back into town next week... he wants to clean it up and have me look at it again.

82bucket... im up in sedgwick... wonder if i've seen you around hahahah! the shop on central... yea lol! he is friends with the owner and i think he might have done some work there back when it was king kong... i know they never worked on the car itself though. he told me he wouldnt let them lol. the white one is also his... and i want to look more at that one (he's on the fence about selling it)

as for an 8 i actually considered that car pretty heavy when i was hunting for a new car, i ended up going for a subaru legacy 07 model and i love it... i think an 8 would be a tad bit outta my price range honestly... those are seeming to still hold their value pretty damn well!

In my opinion, it is far easier/better to fix a car with a blown motor than one with missing/broken/trashed interior and exterior pieces.

Good luck!

i dont know... i want it like no other and if i keep my job the way it is yea i can do it. about 2 weeks ago my boss and i were talking about how things were looking for the upcoming year.... we're pretty small about 6 employee's and well.... pretty much said if the tax rates shoot up we might be in trouble. so it has me a little worried about my own job.

i am trying to 100% figure out everything to make sure i dont make a stupid move that i wont be able to deal with financially. some of what i was going to be throwing down onto the fd is dwindling away do to the time of year... some christmas gift money along with the wonderful real estate taxes YAY! lol! soooo some of what i had is gone. i guess it'll all come down to what i have once he says he has the title.

deon who has i think 4 fd's now, one of which doesnt run called me again last night... we talked about his white fd for a little bit which i dont know a damn thing about it but it sounds like he wants me to look at it here this friday.

to sum up... i dont know what the hell to do lol!

I remember Deon's white FD from the meet we have about 5 years ago. It was sweet, had the white wheels....hmmm...I think I have a picture.....found it. My FD is to the right of his in the 2nd picture.

lol yea that was it alright, he put the white volks on the black fd, and then now there's a gunmetal set on the white fd. im not sure what to think about it at the moment, im sure it'll be outta my range.

it was in rather good condition over all, needs to be washed and polished real bad. he said it's sat for about 2 years since someone broke out his drivers side window. (which needs fixed) he said he starts it every so often but doesnt drive it cause of the window and the rear rotor is reading about 70% compression... soooo doesnt know how long it'll last. car has about 87k on it he said....

then he wants the 99 wing off of it, the 99+ front brakes, and the greddy stock mount intercooler.

sooooo mods on it would be an ast, defi gauges, blitz shift **** maybe, 99 tails, r1 lip, and apexi intake kit. he said since the front fenders were a little messed up he'd throw in some feed fenders to compensate for it.

i dunno what to think, he's supposed to get back with me on the price he'll want on it.
