I think darius and I are going to shoot to be there around noon. Let the guys more local get on the dyno before us. Also, we dont want to get up way way early to head there from des moines. So consider us tword the end of the day. I will prolly take quite a while anyway for him to get everything lined up on my car.

Hey guys, my wife and I are planning to go to Omaha after the event which is why I requested to be earlier in the group. I would think my car would be fairly quick to tune with its minimal mods, but if Steve knows someone else's car would be faster to tune than mine then they can go first. We were just hoping to leave Cedar Rapids by noon if possible so we can get to Omaha before dinner.
Thanks guys

Not a problem here. Darius and I are leaving Des Moines at nine. That should put us there at 11:30 or Noon. Figured we would give the others a chance to get done. I have a feeling mine will take a while to be tuned. Hopefully all goes well.

My car should be relatively quick to tune as well. I plan on being there Early as well. Fuel filter will be replaced as will plugs and oil of course.
One other quick question, What forms of payment do we use to cover the remaining fees? CC, PP, CASH, - Just curious.
Thanks,

So when you say needs new oil/plugs/fuel filter, I've got about 150 miles on my oil, at most 1000 miles on the plugs, and around 2000 on the fuel filter. Do I really need to replace those?

I plan on bringing some cash for the dyno fees. I will also most likely be trailering my car down. Just not to sure how things will go on the dyno. Want to be prepared for the worse. Plugs will be changed out before it gets put on the trailer. Rx8s are gay and cant really do much about a fuel filter, and oil, i have about 1500mi on it. I will get to changing it if i can find the time but i think i will be ok if i dont get it done in time.
Also found a small coolant leak i have the other day. Believe i am just going to let it be till after the tune. Its barried a little bit so wold take asome time to get to it and get it all replaced.

looks like the weather is going to be nice. This morning heard on the news while getting ready there may be some hail in my area, so I may leave a little later than I originally planned. Looks like rain/storms tomorrow in Cedar Rapids as well.

Steve's flight was cancelled, he is waiting at the airport hoping to still catch one tonight. The next flight he knows he can get on will arrive at 12 tomorrow(sat). Right know it looks loke we won't be starting until around 1. I'll update when I know something for sure.

I filled up in Illinois, so I was good. Ended up at 345RHWP on a masssively heat soaked motor at just over 1BAR. I ran to the corner store to buy some ice to chill the Intake Temps. Worked for about 25 mins before the bag was just water
Thanks again to Steve and Ryan for setting this up. The car was a BLAST to drive home.

Overall I'm 75% happy. I know my car is safe to drive with boost now, (previous owner had a lot of mods that I undid and was running a map I didn't know was safe), so now I can enjoy it.
Disappointed that my exhaust tip has a decent scratch on it now from the shop's exhaust tubing. Also disappointed that we could only tune my car to 10 psi on stock twins. I think at 10 psi my best run was 265 hp. I'm still waiting for them to email me the graphs/data, I should had them print me out a page.
Not 100% sure if it was the Iowa gas to blame yet or if it was my injectors. At 10 psi my stock injectors were running @ 95%, so we weren't able to push the boost any higher even on stock twins. Not sure if it's because Iowa has 15% ethanol in their gas, or if my injectors are dirty and need to be cleaned/replaced. Someone was watching the fuel pressure gauge from idle to redlline and the pressure was good, so it wasn't the fuel pump (bosch 044) or the fuel filter causing the issue.
Regardless whether it's the injectors or the gas, I'm going to plan on upgrading my injectors next spring and probably go with 1000/2000 so it will be plenty if I can go single turbo as well next spring/summer.

This was the first car I had ever modified and/or messed with. So, this was my first tune. I feel that there was a lot that I could have done different with my car... I can't complain, though. Honestly, I was very intimidated by all of the other vehicles. Everyone had such clean cars/engine bays! Anyway, I showed up with my FC that was running pretty janky until Steve got it to idle normally. He found that one of the trailing coils was not firing at all. I had to switch out the leading plugs with a couple of plugs that Ryan gave me. (Thank you so much Ryan.) I decided for Steve to tune it on just the two leading plugs. At this point I felt weird and a bit upset with myself... I started to question whether or not I was even worthy of owning an RX-7. Regardless, my car ran strong. My goal was 300HP... And my best run ended up being 322HP @ 12psi. I'm extremely happy with the results. I've got a lot more to do/change... It's a work in progress.
Thanks; Steve, Ryan, Black Widow employees, and everyone that made this possible.
