Steve Kan in Cedar Rapids, IA interest

I have had multiple people show interest in bringing Kan to IA. Dyno will be in Center Pointe at Black Widow Diesel. Dyno rates are 100/hr, but i'm going to try for a group rate.

Here's the pricing structure.

Tuning costs:

$350 - Stock Turbo up to 12psi of boost (pump gas only) 1 map
$400 - Aftermarket Turbo up to 16psi of boost (pump gas only) 1 map
$450 - Aftermarket Turbo from 16psi - 25psi of boost (race gas and/or auxiliary injection only) 1 map
$600 - Aftermarket Turbo up to 25psi of boost (pump gas and race gas tune) 2 maps

On all tuning sessions there is a Non-refundable $200 deposit.

Once at least 5 people have committed, I will contact Steve for a date to lock in. Right now May 22-23 looks to be the date.

my car has been tuned by Steve before, and it basically just needs another look. I am running twins still, but I have a fair number of Mods to tweak for... Safe to assume I am not just going to get a stock map from Kan? If so I may decline...

He will map it to take advantage of the mods you made. You should probably go to Kantuning.com and ask him any questions you have directly.

I'm assuming that since it's a diesel shop it's awd dyno? I might be interested I just don't know how well he'll do with a Subaru and for that price I could have Jorge do it for less and get 2 maps. I guess I'll be watching to see if there is a price change from more people jumping aboard.

The dyno is 2wd, but Steve can street tune it. That would save you the dyno fee. Steve's price isn't going to change if that is the price drop you were referring to. As far as a good tune, he is more than capable of tuning your car. If you go to kantuning.com you can pull up dyno graphs of cars he has tuned.

I'm trying to get my work to confirm the time off I'll need. My last co-worker put in his 2 weeks notice last week, so after next week I'm on my own until I can rehire staff.

I'll check once we have 5 and a confirmed date. 75/hr is probably the cheapest it will be.

Believe me, I want to go and am planning to go. I just hate to commit and at the last minute ditch and **** you guys off even more because my work won't let me go. As of 4/8, I will be the only peron in my department (IT), and until I can get more people hired to cover (I will have to take friday monday off for this event) they probably won't let me go. I'll talk to my boss this week and see if we maybe outsource to a local vendor for those 2 days, just in case.

That would be great, we have a few people that are trying to work out things so they can attend. We need one more person to commit so we a have 5, then I can get things rolling.

I will talk to Steve, we have a special deal worked out where i will have a discounted rate for a tune. HOWEVER, if its absolutely neccisary i would pay for a full tune if it means him coming up here. It would be more out of pocket for me, but would still make sure this would happen. If we cant find the 5th person by the end of April, i will talk to him about me paying full price to cover the 5th person for the day.

Today I finally received written confirmation from my boss (CFO) that I will have the days off needed to attended. Count me as #5. Sorry it took so long to get the OK.
