MO Something is a little... off...

I've been driving my FC for a while now, I just feel like it should have more power. Especially with everything that was done to it by the previous owner.

Anyone care to meet up and take it for a test drive and tell me what you think? I need someone that knows about rotary motors... I never intended to keep the Wankel in there lol.

Live: East Independence
Work: Harrahs Casino area

Thanks in advance!

Vehicle specs? First guess would be 5th-6th ports...

Racing beat header, full custom dual 2.5" exhaust, and a CAI are the main power upgrades.

Stock air box and a K&N drop in>any aftermarket or custom intake for starters. Check your 5th/6th ports, make sure the exhaust is solid and do you know the last time anyone did a tune up? Anything else done to it? Don't expect a rocket ship, na's aren't much for 'serious performance' without some serious investment.

Definately aux ports, the S4's use exhaust back pressure to open the 5th and 6th ports, your "custom" exhaust may not have taken this into account. You can wire them open, you will lose some low end power, but it will pull to redline like it should.

I'll do this, if that helps, I'll do an electric solenoid setup like I've seen just now doing research lol.

Does it pull smoothly to redline? Your 0-60 time when new was 7.5-8 seconds. 26 years probably turned that number to 8-9. Is this your first rotary? They do not have a noticeable rise or "bump" in power like piston engines do. All the power is up top. Taking off hard from idle will "feel" slow, no low end torque. Put it in first and let it up to 4k easy then punch it. You will feel it there.

Yeah, power is smooth.

I'll have a coworker time 0-60 when I get a chance after work...

If anyone local wants to take a look at it, it'd be greatly appreciated, I may just be crazy. lol

Sadly, being a 'vert that is spot on, they are about 300 lbs heavier than the coupes, add 2 (I assume) passengers...

You can do a few things to speed it up, get rid of that cone filter (it is a HOT air intake), does it have a header or a custom exhaust on the factory manifold? There can be some gains there. Change ALL fluids to synthetic, Racing Beat claimed to pick up a few HP by switching everything to royal purple. Change spark plugs. You can swap to a weber 2 barrel and pick up some power. Etc...

It will never be fast, unless you start adding boost or displacement. Or build a peripheral port...

The different rear end gears probably Don't help either... Vert had 3.90 vs 4.10

RB header with 2.5" custom dual exhaust btw
