Questions for the Midwest 7 owners

Well, I've been bitten by the turbo bug after I bought my 90 Probe GT 2.2 turbo for my daily driver. I realize how much faster a car is, even with a small turbo, and want to know what a RX-7 is capable of. I've got the income now to easily afford one, and can sell my pretty mint 87 GXL for at least 2500 bucks to put towards a nice TII. Problem is, I can't ever find one around here that's been taken care of like my GXL was. You guys know of anything around?

Next question. There any shops around the Quad Cities/Dubuque area that know rotary engines? I have a feeling the Mazda shops around here wouldn't have any idea what a rotary engine even is, because they don't sell many 8's or have them on the lots at all. Where I live seems to be more of a Honda place. Anyone know?

Depending on how much power you want it might not be best to switch chasis.

Put a TII diff/5 lug/drive shaft it's the same as a TII after a engine tranny build.

If you want some good reliable power you'll need to go standalone and that is pretty expensive.

If your look'n for just a TII and around stock power levels then just buy a TII.

if you are shooting for 300+ I wouldn't swap chasis.

What exactly do you mean by switching chasis? As in, keep the Probe to tune and use the RX-7 for a daily driver? And by putting a TII diff/5 lug/drive shaft in my non-turbo it's the same as a TII after a engine tranny build? Going standalone isn't a huge issue for me, because it'll be something I'll be doing after I'm out of school. I plan on having this car for a long, long time. I plan on shooting for around 300 HP at the very most with a TII, because that will be more than enough power to have some fun.
