MN Powercruise @ BIR 7/11-7/13

I have never seen so many FDs in one place in MN, I'm guessing everyone is from far and wide from across the state.

Do you guys ever meetup locally as a RX7 group?

There were quite a few FCs there too, even one with a 4G63!

Anyway, I only ask as I would love to learn more about rotarys and educate myself as much as possible about FDs and rotarys.

Hope to see you all around.

oh I'll be at BIR for the wednesday night drag unless something comes up.

Haha yea it must have been every running fd in the state. I was surprised to see so many. Seems the track wasn't so kind to the rx7's, I saw a good handful exit with help from the tow truck.

Sad that the RX-7/8 crowd is mostly about BS "powercruise" glorified car shows and less about NASA/SCCA TT/Racing/solo etc anymore....

Wankles were meant to be flogged lap after lap not in short bursts

I don't think it's so much that the rx crowd is all about powercruise, but more that powercruise only happens one time per year in only one state in the country. Why wouldn't you go if you lived in Minnesota?

I would be into nasa/scca if I had the time/money to be competitive. Buying tires and brakes all the time would get old. I think that's a factor.

Rock, Could you possibly PM me details or a direction in which to get into that style racing. My car is setup (well, pretty damn sure) .

I was at powercruise because its 5 minutes from my house lol Plus the budget this year did not allow for Auto x events or getting SCCA licensed.

Where you located? I'm just 15 minutes north of bir, might be nice to have someone who knows rotaries to help the inevitable issues I'll run into.
