NE Nebraska and Iowa (need your help!)

Just to introduce myself. My name is Tim. I live about 5 miles north of west omaha.
I was wondering if anyone would be interest in helping me with my 1987 RX-7 GXL.

The story is in December I bought a 1986 RX-7 (base model) then on March 23rd I got a 1987 RX-7 GXL. The Base model is a 5 speed and the GXL is a auto. I wanted to take the motor and transmission outta the 86 and put it in the 87 so do a auto to manual swap.

If anyone could help me with this I would be willing to give you some parts off the 86 if you want them. I dont need many things off of it so there will be seats, carpet, dash, body, wheels, ect.

I just really need some help.

Thanks alot guys!

I could probably use some parts. I'm no expert on this subject so anyone feel free to correct me if I'm wrong, but if you just want to swap the transmission/crossmember, flywheel/clutch, and pedals I think that swap would be easier than taking the whole motor out. Unless the one engine is better than the other I don't see the point. I've never done this kind of swap so I don't know what all that will need to be done but if you've done your research and just need a hand I'd be willing to help out. I live off of the Irvington exit at the moment too so I'm not too far from ya but am thinking about moving in the next month.

Tim,
Unlike me, Joe (Rotorballs) knows FCs. What he's saying is probably good advice.

You could also try nestreetscene.com. PM "Gigantor" and ask to be added to the MAZDA user group. There are a few other FC owners who might have some info that could help. Good luck.
