There are several of us on here in the Omaha metro area. I have both an FB and FC. There are a few other FB'ers that I know and I just saw 2 others in Millard last week. There are a few other FC's but I haven't seen them recently. You can even find an FD if you look hard enough. Not many post in this section but they are on here. There have been attempts at meeting up but not much has happened. There used to be several of us at SCCA events but I haven't raced one of mine for several years. There is one FB that still make it out sometimes. If that kind of thing interests you check out nrscca.org for more info. If you need parts or help with anything, post it up here and we'll try to respond when we can.

Im on Ness. Im on there as neostang since I went through a period where I had a toyota matrix then a couple of stangs. Everybody knew me as neo so I kept it. I have an 83. I try to get out as often as the wife lets me. I just got it back on the road part in thanks to mazdaspeedrex. I have only seen one other fb on the road in omaha in a while. Its silver and I saw it in the millard area. I would love to have a first gen get together/hangout sometime. Even if its just hanging out and b-sing somewhere. Im down.

nevermind, looks like it got deleted, anyways, WE NEED A NEW STRIP TO REPLACE SCRIBNER!

After being shot down time and time again we're trying again, please join the facebook group so local enthusiasts can get at least a good 1/4 mile track without having to drive 2+ hours to get there, we have a road course and 1/8 mile track about an hour away, but a 1/4 strip would be awesome between Lincoln and Omaha

A certain incident that involved "street racing" has rekindled an awareness for needing a drag strip in our county

http://www.kolnkgin.com/news/headlines/50904922.html
Watch the video too. Andy is a good friend of mine, as is Mike (who was not on the video, but was the other ticketed driver)

Now, this is not to condone street racing, but rather to give us an outlet to which we can enjoy our hobby legally. For those of you who aren't aware, a gentleman by the name of Greg Sanford was willing to foot the entire bill to have a dragstrip put in a small town just outside of lincoln. He had the land bought and everything. Only needed approval to have a motorsports complex built specifically. After a few hearings (one of which our own local forum flooded with members to show for support), ultimately it was shot down. Not only do I and many of my fellow peers/gearheads disagree with this decision, but we will not give up on trying.

I created this facebook group to help raise awareness again that there is tons of support to have a dragstrip built. I understand that none of you will probably be local or effect you in any way, but I'm sure some of you rotorheads can understand our plea for something that many of us find necessary to have. There are a lot of benefits to having this drag strip built, one of the biggest being money pumped into our city/county/state.

any of you interested in going to the KC meet this sunday? 3 hour road trip would be fun...hmm edit: Looks to be a bit late in the day for a sunday meet. Maybe not the best date for a meet since most people work the next day

There's plenty of omaha members on here. I met up with a couple bellevue guys last week. It's tough getting big meets together but sometimes run into guys around town. We should try and get another big rx7 or rotary meet together

I'd be up for it but I'm driving my fc to Boise, ID to visit family. I know it's been tried before but I think we should try to have a few get togethers every now and then.

A regular monthly meet spot would be cool if we can gather enough interest. At least a couple good full meets once a year

the only problem with full meets is schedules, I'm in Lincoln and I would need to find 3 hours to make it up to Omaha where most of you guys are.

3 hours? The drive is only 50 minutes to anywhere in omaha tops. Anyway, nothing wrong with full meets or regular monthly meets. If people can't make the full meet they can't make it. That's just how those things go and it's expected. Obviously the more the better but whatever. I'm not very good at organizing these sorts of things though but I'm almost always available to attend

I saw a really clean black Vert in Omaha a week ago, I was at the zoo and could see it parked on the street (I think it was Grover St) from inside the zoo.
