The title says it all. I was wondering if anyone knew of a place near Des Moines, Iowa to service and repair an RX-7. The Mazda dealership doesn't really seem like a descent option in this case.

I don't think a dealership is ever a decent option unless you're buying a part that must be bought new and can't be had anywhere else. I, too, would like to know if there are any Iowa rotary shops.

 

They don't exist unfortunetly. Around here everyone usually just helps each other out with problems. I think the nearest rotary shop would be A-spec in Chicago...

Any comments on their prices and quality of work?
I do all my own work, and in a few months I should have a garage that I'll be able to do ANYTHING in as far as tearing my car(s) apart. What I can't do is machine a wankel iron or a piston head.

 

What do you need done and what series of car? I'm in Ames and know my way around a 2nd gen non-turbo pretty damn well. PM/IM me if you're interested.

A-spec is awesome. Thats why they are always booked up.

 

How about someone who can/will rebuild a motor? I picked an 87 turbo that was over heated...
