Mo/Kan all-out Mazda meet!
Mo/Kan all-out Mazda meet!
Hello all, I'm new to the forums but a fan of Mazdas for quite some time. I suppose you could say it's in the family blood since in our driveway resides a Mazdaspeed 6, Mazda 6, and my Mazda RX-8 on the weekends! Anyways, since purchasing my RX-8 I've really wanted to plan a Mazda meet of some sort to get everyone together, and now we've got something worked out:
When: Saturday, October 13th
Time: 1pm
Where: Rob Sight Mazda! 13901 Washington St. Kansas City, MO 64145
That's right, the folks at Rob Sight Mazda have given us a whole area of their lot that Saturday to park the cars, show them off, and have some fun. They will be providing food, and the service area will be open so that we can take a look. They're offering tours of the facility, etc., and without any catches at all.
It's a month away so hopefully that gives everyone enough of a chance to plan. Given scheduling with them as well as the upcoming cold weather, it's a little on the short notice side but you have to work with what you can get so I'd love to see as many Mazda's as we can get! The service director and general manager of the dealership are 100% behind this, so a big thanks to them for opening up their facility as well.
Now, shout it to the world and let's have ourselves and awesome time at a great dealership! If you plan on attending, please reply in here or shoot me a PM as I will be trying to get together a head count to make sure enough food is supplied.
Thanks, and hope to see you there!

Already planned a meet in Wichita for the area. Any chance of rescheduling? Would like to come up for your meet as well but we have already reserved our site. Would Sunday be out of the question? Two day event to let the south folks drive to KC for Sunday wouldn't be so bad.
Yeah, pretty well sucks to schedule this on the same date as the Wichita meet.
Though I realize a lot of 'northern folk' wouldn't be able to make it down, same as it is unlikely many 'southern folk' would go that far north.
Let's ALL just pray for no rain!

You can't get everything right when working between schedules of each and every person, but I wish you all the best of luck in your meet and that you enjoy it!
damn, i would love to go back home and go to this, but my heart lies with my 7 brothers before my Mazda brethren. Sounds like an awesome time though, hopefully we'll see some pictures either here or KCSR, I'll be shooting at the Wichita meet.

Unfortunately at this point the only options we have would be sooner and frankly I think this is even too soon. There is a Miata meet there the following week and then we're just getting into cold weather after that.

Good luck with yours also.
Current weather for Saturday is showing it to be partly cloudy and in the 70's so it looks like we'll be blessed with some nice weather.
I am looking forward to seeing everyone there.

Bad news all.
Due to a lack of people saying they will attend, and cancellations from those saying they will attend, the event has been cancelled and will be re-planned for next spring when hopefully we can get more out for it.
It's unfortunate, but to make it worth everyone's time I think it's better that this be done.
It's late notice, but I've received more and more cancellations and it's just not worth it to continue on.
The cancellations weren't just from this forum (to make it perfectly clear). The attendance was already relatively low so when others started saying they couldn't make it it just made the decision all that much more necessary. To hopefully get a sponsorship out of Rob Sight for future events like this we would really need the first one to be big and go out with a bang and that's just not going to happen with it held in the fall. Sorry everyone.
