Minnesota: no smog rules?

Does MN NOT have any smog rules.? I'm in Mpls at this moment and my hosts claim there are no smog requirements for their '94 MX6. I want to move one of my extra RX-7 FBs here for my use, so now I'm thinking of putting the Sterling HiPerf Nikki (I already have it!) on, along with an RB header, and driving it here.

Will I be able to register the 7 here? If so, it means I'll have a damn fast 7 for a few months in CA, a lot of fun crossing the continent, and a good car to drive here.

As with every other state you need to have your emissions system intact. Just no one in Minnesota checks if they are still there anymore. Only good thing jesse ventura did when in office.
Now you just need to have him convince your govinator.

So what happens when you go to re-register at the MN DMV? Do they check it then? Should I wait to mount the Sterling until after registration?

I took mine in to get registered in MN and all I had to do is give them my paper work, they didnt check the car at all. But it might depend on where you go. I regestered mine in Moorhead in northern MN. They might be a little more pickie down towards the cities.

I've bought & sold and a couple vehicles with out any issues. They don't have the technical facilities to check cars anymore. The DMV just deals with paperwork end.
