Hey, I have a request for everybody. If you would, please include your city in the location section (as seen under my avatar, ie. Grand Rapids, Mi).
It helps keep everyone straight when it comes to notification of "local" events.
Thanks...

Finally figured out my wiring issue last night, and fired up the freshly built 355 c.i. with a big lumpy cam + open shorty headers = loud in a closed garage.
Will be going for a test drive/break in tonight.. First run checklist:
No hood or headlights - check
Built 355 c.i. LT1 with lumpy cam - check
Open headers - check
Wires all hanging out of the dash - check
Gauges taped to the dashboard - check
Top down - check
HD Video camera to capture the mayhem - check
Yup, think it's just about ready! Should be interesting. Been driving the 225rwhp turbo Miata the last couple of days, so it'll be a stark contrast when the ~380-400rwhp vert-8 hits the road.

Hey, is anybody considering going to DGRRX this year? Only about three weeks away, and its a long drive down to NC, but its well worth it.
Three days (or more) of tearing up the best roads in the universe in a car that was built for doing exactly that. What more could you ask for?

Thanks! It ran for the first time last night, holy crapola is it wicked loud.. sounds gnarley, and pulls hard. Hope to put the exhaust on it tonight, open headers, while entertaining at first, quickly makes you deaf. And then there is the police issue.

I've got the motor and tranny all set to go back into the car, and the gas tank has been repaired and painted, so that's ready too. Hopefully I'll be able to do the reassembly afternoons this week, and have the car on the road by the weekend. Yippee!!!!

Got her back out here in one piece; she's running well except the boost control doesn't seem to be responding after re-doing the wiring harness. Hopefully a small thing, and then 12 psi-time!
DGRR would be awesome, but I don't think i'll have the time this year. I was down there last summer (but with my DD, a Saab 9-3), and it was a LOT of fun, even with FWD.

Spotted a really clean silver FB on Utica rd today at around 2:00, I don't remember exactly where, Utica and maybe like 12 mile-ish? 13?
Looked really clean from the 3 seconds I saw it (going opposite directions). Looked like an older guy driving it. Hope you didn't get caught in the rain .

I know tht this would be one hell of a trek BUT I found 2 FBs for 650. The silver 83 (appears to be an LE) runs but does not move, owner thinks it is locked up rear brakes. The other is some red POS for parts. I know some of you guys have been looking for projects.

Orion, IL - Which is south east of Davenport, IA
Coincidentally, I know of a body guy looking for a project that only lives about an hour and a half SW of where those cars are located in a town called Washington, IA. Just throwin' that out there...

Oh man, I've been wanting an FB even more than usual for the last couple months, it's so tempting. But there's no way I could swing it with my already over-stretched budget, not to mention storing 2 more cars in my driveway. I've already gotten a violation for having my FC in the driveway on jack stands with no front suspension for a couple weeks. I can't imagine the **** storm 2 crusty FBs would trigger . Some day...
