Sept 10? I'll check it out if my car is out of the shop by then. So where should we meet? I suggest that parking lot behind Hooters in Schaumburg. I hardly see any security roll in that area.

I like the sounds of the 10th, being that I have a bunch of stuff, including a pig roast, going on during labor day weekend. Also, they just built a huge parking area just down the road from spring hill mall where we'd have plenty of room for us to park.

I'm honestly just glad I had a good idea!

Charlie or Max, my car will probably be near completion when this meet happens but not fuly functional. Would either of you mind if i tagged along with ya for the meet, provided you have an open seat?

Okay guys, we haven't exactly settled this yet. Are we doing the raceway or what? Also, in regards to food, we're just across from spring hill mall (Olive Garden, red lobster, denny's, etc.), as well as just down the road from Algonquin commons which has some other resturants in there (fairly expensive). Or else we could have a few guys bring smokey joes with and some charcoal and grill out at the track (at least the parking area)!

Also, I cannot instill this enough. The track is strictly available for walking around. There is no driving possible or even a way onto the track with a car. It's merely for astetic value. And it's just a neat backdrop for our cars.

Yes, I walked the track about 15 yrs ago in the winter. There was water over the track in some places and a big washout on the main straight.

^ Yeah, that used to be a bridge over the culvert. Unfortunatley, though, it looks as if I may not be able to go. I was told to expect to ship out to NO this Friday to do (wait for it!) Corpse handling duty. It looks to be a 7-10 day deployment, so I guess I may not make it. Nothing is set in stone as to when I leave, but it's fairly certain that I'm going in the immediate future. Also, you're gonna love this, I have to supply my own food, water, and shelter for the 10 days, plus transport, which I think I can arrange out of Milwaukee with the Air Force (being that I'm deploying with the U.S. Air Force Auxilary). So, as more info becomes available, I'll let you know if I can make it. I'll also get a picture in front of the "Welcome to New Orleans" sign with my team (I'm the Team Leader). Sorry to be the one to think of this meeting spot and probably not be able to go.

I am ready, is this on or not, where when, someone tell me

We really should have some regular meeting place or something, the problem with that is there are a lot more WRX guys and if 5 cant make it there are still plenty there.

Well, being that nobody is making a choice:

Where: Raceway Woods (meadowdale raceway), Carpentersville, IL. New entrance on Rt. 72, west of spring hill mall. Potential to take meet anywhere after that.

When: Saturday Sept. 10th (tomorrow) 11:00 AM to ?

I think that sums it up pretty well.

Nah, I'm not gonna go. I already changed my plans, so I'm going to my friends shop to work on a brake caliper mounting plate and duct for his '65 Mustang. Sorry, I just didn't think It'd be worth it if only 2 or 3 people showed up. Maybe we could push it back to October when gas prices settle back down a little. That and my car is full of crap in preperation for going to N.O.
