If I was unable to work on my own stuff, i would much rather have one of the 2 aforementioned shops (AIM or Bansai) than to take it to anyone else in the 4-5 state region...
I will assure you, just from actually seeing what has been done locally...

As to AIM and Banzai I have nothing to say about them, good or bad. Heres why. I have no first hand experience with them. So it would make more sense to keep my mouth shut about things I don't have first hand experience on. Rather than to run around, and have no sense and spread what I think I might know, because someone told me so. Or what I think I might have saw. But that's just me and maybe it has a little to do with having enough respect for them to not judge them without said firsthand experience.

Are you gonna step to the plate for them on their behalf?? Cause I know this much I will stand here and say BRING IT. SHOW ME!! I will stand here on my own and say it. No need for little funny dodges. No need for anyone to talk trash for me got it. Good. Now go have fun with your weiner.

read that again dude,
I am not trash talking whatsoever.
I do have experience with them, and therefore I am re0inforcing that either shop would take care of the situation,
I have been to both shops... I have seen the engines they produce.. Chris has come to our local Picnic, and I have been to his Twice. he is a good guy and know s his stuff... The guys at Aim do as well..
See I do have experience with both... so w/o starting a flamewar, it would have been prudent to ask if indeed I know first hand before i made my comments.
If what i originally posted made no sence to you then, I appologize. I was trying to stratle the line to report that you couldn't go wrong either way..... without getting into a 3-page report about either one...
My point is simple. there are alot of builders out there... there is no point in having a car shipped across the country for something like this.
Now that you may realise that i am not talking trash... do you need a hug?

The quality of work coming out of his shop speaks for its self. Numerous cars from his shop have been featured in various mags and there are many high HP motors with an Aspec stamp on them running around. Probably more than any other shop in the midwest actually as they have been doing it longer than anyone else.... building and tuning that is. I am especially impressed with his custom designs. In an age where most folks just copy and steal from each other, Aspec makes and designs their own. He has a first rate first class outfit.
Shop loyalty runs pretty high on this forum and there are several good ones in the Midwest.

Enough hugs
For now.....
I would like to see who can make the most NA power out of “used-stock” components with only the "AID" if engine balancing.
The rules are.....
ONLY-Stock 3-peice seals
ONLY-Stock Rubber plug corners
Used side seals (but can be in any condition)
New bearings ONLY if necessary
---Engine balancing is allowed and open---
6-port NA end plates are all that will be allowed.
(This is to set a stage for a universal platform; otherwise we would have people building 4port FD plates with J-bridges and all kinds or other things like that)
Fuel management
Either carb. Or piggy backed stock.
Everything else is open; this will be a low cost battle of the tuners.
The rules are not meant to be read into they are only there so nobody goes out and spends 3k on this little battle. Nobody should have to spend more than (at most) 200 dollars and that’s counting the cost of the burrs and sanding rolls.
400hp? Can it be done.........?
I guess we will have to find out
Call it weekend fun and good luck to who ever decides to participate.

Now, sorry if for some reason I am missing something, but maybe a better choice of words was in order. I will never be seen on this sight or anywhere else for that matter saying something in such a way as to imply someone else isn't as good as....
I may say X is the best I know. But not X is better than Y. I do my best to not base my shop on the performance of others. I let it be judged on it's own merit. That's all my point is. I've never said good or bad of either of those shops. I am the type of person who if asked "Should I go to you or to them?" Would say you need to pick whoever your more comfortable with, and then I try and make you comfortable I don't bash others to make myself look good or get jobs. So sorry for the misunderstandings and I'm sure most will tell you I'm not a very huggy kinda guy.

this is all very respectible of you.... I've seen your work on one of your customers car. and it was indeed well done. For me to say this should be taken to heart as a compliment. I am not easily impressed. You made note before of something I have "seen." You are correct, I haven't see everything, no one has, or ever will.. but Like you, I judge things from what i have personally seen or experienced.
I've been playing with these crazy Wankels for aboot 8 years... and (I assume) like you I've seen alot.... I have torn down engines from many different people/shops.
I'll track you down at rev next year... and give you a big hug.
just to re-iterate. my goal was to not put any shop down, or put one over the other... just to recognize that each shop can take care of the root issue the thread was started

NO HUGS!!!! Think of me as more like a porcupine. As for whos car you saw, I wish I could vouch for it but I would say unless you actually see something leave here don't be too judgemental. So many people start modifying stuff after I'm done and God only knows what you witnessed.
