KC Cruise - Sunday Sept 23rd
KC Cruise - Sunday Sept 23rd
Hey all! From someone who has always wanted an FD and almost bought an FC, I would like to sent an invite out from the Kansas City Z Club to all the RX owners in the area! As some of you have attended in the past, you know what you're in for! (Sadiq can fill you in if he's on here...)
Basically, on September 23rd, we will be hosting a cruise around some twisty roads here in KC. We may do a route from the past, as some of you may be familiar with, that will lead us to country roads near Independence, Lexington, Grain Valley, etc. However, we *may* be devising a new route that may take us as far as Jeff City. Nothing is set in stone yet, but we wanted to get the word out early to surrounding clubs.
Basically, come out and enjoy some twisty roads as well as the company of other local car enthusiasts! I'll update the thread as soon as I know specifics. We usually send invites to a lot of the local sports car clubs... Obviously the Z Club, the NSX guys, MR2s, Elises, BMWs, etc, so it's usually a pretty diversified, but fun crowd! Everyone's usually very controlled and we try to avoid inviting the ricer kids who normally drive like JA's and cause accidents.
Hope to see everyone there!
Some highlights from similar cruises in the past...

and when it was a bit warmer...

Hrrm... that Z06 looks familiar... (and no, this isn't a regular occurance, and nobody got into any trouble.. heh!)

Also, we were curious as to how many people would rather have a 2-3 hour cruise + lunch rather than a 5 hr cruise + lunch? Reason we ask is because if the 2-3 hour bunch is more dominant, we'll simply use the route from the past as opposed to the Jeff City route.
Thanks, and we'll see ya there!

Whoop, guess you can't edit threads over here, so I'll post yet another thread w/some more updates...
UPDATE:
WHEN: Sunday, September 23rd, 8:30am. Driver's meeting & Directions @ 8:50, departure approx 9:00am. Cruise will last approximately 2-3 hours, and we will meet somewhere for lunch at the end (TBD)
WHERE: Meeting at Red Robin, cruising around twisty roads in the country.
WHO: Hosted by the Kansas City Z Club, local NSX, MR2, S2000, RX-7, and Elise clubs have been invited. Everyone be sure to bring your two way radios!!
WHAT: A spirited drive in the country. Come out, and have some controlled fun on the street. (By Controlled, I mean self-regulated!
PLEASE: If you plan on coming, we would like to get a fairly accurate head count so we can determine how many copies of directions to print up, and approximately how many people will be having lunch, just in case the restaurants need that info. If you're planning on attending, please email me (schulte.pete@gmail.com if you don't want to use the direct link) letting me know ASAP! Preferably sometime before the week of the event, if possible. Please let me know not only if you are coming to the cruise, but if you plan to stay after for lunch. Thanks everyone!

Nothing wrong with a project car.
Bring her out! BTW, I'd like to remind everyone a navigator is reccommended for the cruise, as we'd hate for you to read directions while driving, and you can't always trust the guy in front of you.
Two-ways are also highly reccommended. Hope to see lots of rotary power on Sunday!
For some reason, the yellowpages link to the restaurant has stopped working, so I am reposting meeting spot information!
