Awwww cheeaahh! I'm down with an Alltrac! This is sounding like it's going to be one of the best meets in Kansas we've had! I think I'm going to put an invite on Mazdas247.com if I can find out where to post a Kansas meet.
So, it's settled...
-Jones Park Emporia
-Sunday October, 20
The only questions that remain...
-Food?
-Time? 1 might be too late if we're going to grill out. Maybe earlier?

Maybe some of us more local guys should meet up earlier and get some food from the grocery store, get us a good spot in the park, and start grilling before everyone else shows up?

Is there still a get-together going on Sunday out at Shawnee Mission Park shelter 8? I just realized there's an autocross going on that day, so not sure if I'll make it at this point.

Ill post on mx6 forums when I get a chance about the meet. I think everyone should either bring food or bring money to cover hot dogs, charcoal, etc.

Welcome to the forum! I'm from Salina, I don't know anyone in the Topeka area that owns rx's. Lots of people in KC though. If you want to take it to a shop I hear lots of good things about Jessie Prather in Topeka. his family has been building and racing rotaries for many years. I can't speak firsthand about their work unfortunately. I hope that's useful.

I'm really low on cash and don't even know if I can afford one right now. I know I bought a car that's gonna cost a bit to work on, (I owned a 2004 STi prior), but college kid comes before car guy haha. Hopefully I can get a hookup. If the compression test comes back bad, I'll just have to limp it to Oklahoma and bring my Miata back up.

Here are some examples of what I'm experiencing. I jumped to apex seals, but I think I might have overreacted.
When it's cold it idles really really low in neutral. Like 350-500.
Here's a demonstration after I drove the car around heated it up shut it down and turned it back on. I've been researching and apparently hard to startup after hot might be apex seals but it fires right up.
Any suggestions? I'm thinking vacuum leak and bad plugs. It's only pulling 10inHg of vacuum at idle.

I also recommend Jesse. He rebuilt my motor three years ago and I just got finished doing the install - I know I take a long time. Trailed the car back out to him about two months ago for the first start up. He has a rotary compression tester and I trust him over anyone else in the KC area.
