Kansas events or anything?
I was kind of wondering the same thing. I know there are quite a few people up in your area that were pretty active last year. If I can get my car going it would be fun to do something relatively locally.
Have you checked www.nekm.org or www.kcsr.org? They are much smaller forums, but they are local. Rarely see much of anything going on around the Ft Riley/Manhattan area but KC seems to always have something going on.

There used to be a pretty decent ammount of owners in the KC metro are or what not. Anymore though it seems like people have fallen off the map.
Honestly there used to be a meet every month in 09, dwindled greatly in 10 and i don't really know what to expect in 11.

Ya i would like to go drives/meets or whatnot. I don't have my FC here, but i do have my Rx8. If any of you are in my area, and would like to try and start something feel free to PM me.

Most of us are still here, some moved or switched to other non-rotary Mazda products (cough cough). Nobody took ze initiative to throw up any more meet-ups on here, we were meeting up in various parts of Shawnee Mission Park. As you can see in Trevor's signature, though, we do have regular autocrosses, however. Used to have both the Kansas City SCCA and Crown Autocross, though being as I'm a board member for Crown, I can tell you we're probably not going to be running this year, if ever again. Ye can find more info at kcrscca.org, while the 2011 schedule can be found here. I would imagine that we can get some meets going this year again, if there's some interest. Howzaboot out at Shawnee Mission Park, Shelter 8 (map) on March 13th, weather permitting?

Thanks for the link. Sounds like a lot of fun. I'm going to try to get up there for some of these. Gotta get the car running first though. Pushing it probably wouldn't be allowed.
New owner here also, picked up a 93 fd about a month ago. Car was a non runner and turned out to be a blown engine, its at Poncho's in Pittsburg at the moment for repair. Looking forward to meeting some rotary guys when its back up and running

It'd be nice to get a decent KCMO/JOCO and surrounding area presence back. Maybe sometime this May or June get a meet scheduled for everyone to come out. Figure by then that's a good amount of time for people to solve issues and get back on the road if needed.
I have sold my 7, but a few years back, we had a yearly meet in Lawrence. It was a good time. I'd be interested in going to one even though I no longer have my car. I do have a rotor and housing on my mantle though!
Is yours the red one? My 85 will be going in soon. There are a bunch of RXs in that shop. He does some good business.
I remember going to a few good meets several years ago when K.C. had a functioning and active club. It would be awesome to see a club revived and active up there again. I miss the days when we would meet up with the K.C. folk and do the scenic drive to the Truman Dam. Good times indeed.....
Here's another newbie to the area (not to rotaries though)...
Dang, It seems like there was a pretty good crowd in the Kansas City area, but they all kinda moved or quit... I see there's quite some activity going on not so far from the area, but with the gas the way it is, I would like to know who all the rotary freaks live within 50 miles of the Kansas City area to start something again!
