Talking I passed Emissions!

Alright! Looks like the pre-cat and a competent emissions technician resulted in my FD passing the emissions test! To my surprise, it passed on the "Fast Pass"...how cool is that!

I would like to thank everyone for your input and tips! I especially want to thank Farhan for letting me borrow his pre-cat and getting his shop to install it immediately (literally that same day I talked to him)

Congrats! Strangely, I've only ever seen FDs either pass on fast-pass, or fail miserably. No middle ground.

Oh well, that's one headache I'm glad I don't deal with.

Hell yeah...I usually dont worry too much about stuff, but the state didn't give me much time...so I had to get it done quickly!

I asked a couple people and they said that most of the time they had to do the whole dyno section...oh well. It doesn't matter anymore (we'll till next year).

Now to put back my downpipe and exhaust and pollute the air!

there was an oil leak from the oil cooler and i didnt know it. when i pulled the car in they had 3 people looking at it and they had the hood up. they didnt say anything to me, they just pulled it on the dyno. it started and i dont know hos the guy didnt see the oil pressure guage acting up but besides that he also decides hey lets take the car up to 6 grand. so it sprayed oil everywhere and when i went to complain they told me that they saw the leak before they started the test. so i asked why they ran the test then and took my car to 6 grand and they had no response. so now i have a blown seal i belive and they will hopefully be paying for a rebuild or somthing.

Dude that's total BS! They SHOULD pay for it! Under the IEPA rules if there is visible leak coming from the vehicle, they should have rejected your vehicle (which doesn't count as a count of Pass/Fail). These idiots probably wanted to see what she can do and unfortunately the motor paid the price. If you haven't done so already, you should contact IEPA and tell them what happened. Sorry to hear that bud, hopefully we'll hear soon that your car's back on the street and ready to rock!

Good luck bud!

yeah the car is currently at a local shop and we are sending the emissions insurance company a report of the damage.

I would delete that post. When my buddy had an insurance deal on his prelude, the insurance company went on the forums and found his post about something like that, then they screwed him.

What would they use to screw him? "Hey he posted the truth online...claim denied!"
