I should be getting my Haltech back any day now. The 30th still looks to be alright, hopefully I'll have my car a little more finalized (wheels and tires, possible tune for more boost?...Jason..??)

New FD owner

I always wanted an FD so I picked one up last week in MN. Just thought I would **wave at everyone and say that you will see me around. I live in Des Moines. Not sure if I would be able to make it down on the 30th but another time maybe.

Peace,

JD

You need another exhaust bung farther down. It's too hot and not allowing the Sensor to have any head room to heat the sensor more.

I also need a new sensor.

Been thinking of picking up a new WB. One with out a display and use a analog input on the haltech for the FD. I think they are about 200 with out display. If there is a buyer I'll just sell the LM-1.

Ya it'll happen.

We just had this one schedueled far in advanced.

It's a good chance to ask questions and take a look at other rx7's around the area.

I'd suggest mapquest'n it.

Start out going WEST on US-34-BR / E MAIN ST / CR-X23 toward DIVISION ST. Continue to follow US-34-BR.

Turn LEFT onto OAKBERRY AVE / US-34-BR.

Turn RIGHT onto US-34 W.

Merge onto IA-27 N toward IOWA CITY.

Take the E AVE exit.

Turn LEFT onto 1ST ST NW.

1ST ST NW becomes PENN AVE NW.

Turn RIGHT onto ELLIS BLVD NW.

End at Ellis Park
2200 Ellis Blvd Nw, Cedar Rapids, IA 52405, US

would this be the ellis park were shooting for?
sounds like a lot of fun.
ill be there if i get my trans put back in and my uim put back on!

hey... im from iowa. i live in iowa city and attend IOWA but normally i am from Norwalk, IA [south of des moines]. I currently own a 1989 Nissan 240sx s13 coupe. im looking for a fc t2 but of course i wont be able to find one so i think a fc coupe would be fine. im having the worst time trying to find anything within the state but i do notice that a ton of you guys have one or even more rx7's. it would be great to see if i could get ahold of something to tinker on. i love the look of the fc and i think it would be fun to play with and drive. anyways, i guess i am just introducing myself. i am also a member of dragsource.net from des moines. let me know if anyone has anything for sale. ill consider anything and let me know if anyone wants my 240sx.

thanks..

Wanted: Louver

Hey, I really want a rear louver for my 85 gsl-se. I didn't know what the thing was called until today. For anyone who doesn't know, it's the black vented shades that go over the rear glass hatch kind of like on the Iroc-Z Camaros. Does anyone know where I could find one, even if it's in a junk yard? I don't think any yard around Des Moines even has an FB. Thanks for any help.

So, after being on the forum for at least two years, I finally got an rx7. TYhis is, of course, after I got the Rotary motorcycle. It's an 85 GSL that I got for free. It's in pretty craptastic condition, but the engine isn't locked and seems like it will start. Only problem - I can't get the starter to work. I threw a direct wire to the starter from the battery and got it to spin, but it never popped out onto the flywheel. So now the starter's off, and I'm going to test it and dig into it. The interior on the car is crap (read: a lot of it is missing, and what's there is watrlogged - the driver's window is missing), and the exterior is pretty beat up, but it doesn't seem to have very much rust. That and the guy didn't have a key for the car, so I had to take out the ignition cylinder and turn it with a screwdriver.
But I finally have a 7.

Hey All,

Looks like I blew a coolant seal over the weekend. I am now considering a 20b swap or a rebuilt from Pettit. Just wondering if I go the 20b route if any of you would like to come hang out and have some fun with the swap.

I will post pictures at some point. I have a red r1 with the standard broken interrior panels and a couple of door dings. Nothing special for tires/wheels. Pretty blank slate at this point.

Wow, I thought that car was finally gone for good. My best friends little brother bought it a couple of years ago when it was in good shape. He's the one that put the Megasquirt on it and put the J-spec in it. Cal bought it from him when he decided it was to gone to try and get back together. I'm assuming you bought it from Cal, or maybe that Cal sold it to someone who sold it to you. I know that Cal was trying to sell it this spring. Hopefully you got a good deal on it. Does it still have that little Greddy turbo on it? Is the motor still good? Does the Megasquirt still work? That car has some good potential depending on what you want to get out of it.

Well to save a bit of time you have two options i guess

Use a modified subframe or use FD rear iron with a dry sump pump.

Both are very expensive and have pro's and cons.

FC's are much easier to swap. I'd plan for about 10k min on the swap.

Water seals are usually a really cheap rebuild as long as your irons are good.

I would recommend doing that and going single if you want a little more power/relaiability.

Has anyone thought about who is going to call and reserve the pavilion? Make a list of stuff to bring and I will sign up to bring some stuff.

Guys, I was just joking! It sounded pretty good and I would have liked to talked to the guy.

I saw a blue S5 N/A in great shape and I also saw a red S4 N/A today. WTF? They are everywhere! My buddy just found a silver 86 SE on 4th and Iowa a week ago and gave the guy $400, it is real nice shape.
