i was driving my rx7 today and going down the road let off the gas an push the clutch in and it died?? tried to start it the motor was cranking but wouldnt start was at a roll so i jump started it and it ran but ran ruff ?? any one have symptoms what might have gone out??
Sound like an apex seal went. My FB did the same thing one time. After I took the motor apart it had blown 2 seals on one rotor. Mine did it when I was on the Interstate going about 65 mph. It would only stay running if the drivetrain put pressure on the motor. Once I came to a stop it was very hard to start and I barely got it home.
my engine has around 28,000 miles and i was at about 4000 rpms then let off pushed in the cutch rpms went down but kept on going down then died. costed in tried cranking it over wouldnt then pop started it ran ruff luckly i was a block from my house .. . i try to start it in my gradge cranks over dosnt start lett off then crank again , then try again and when i turn the key theres nothin no motor crank at all. thats why i think it is electrical and not a apex seal or 2 ???????

Get a compression test done, not by mazda though.

Actually from Mazda is the only way to get a compression test done ... unless you have access to one of their 3 phase digital testers. For instance, I know my motor has good compression right now ... but smokes and idles rough, it's probably a pinched side seal from debris getting in there. But I can't tell that with my tester, with a Mazda one I could.
so could it be the ecu needing to be tuned and flooded the engine or new fuel pump cloged fuel filter ?? or can you foul a plug if you run to rich .. . . or am im treating it like a two stroke??
