Gingerman test and tune-September 2nd

All,

If anyone's interested in going out to Gingerman to have a little fun on a track, they have test an tune nights periodically throughout the year. I just picked a date. This is an all day test and tune. I expect the cost to be around $150 or so. I will call and update this tomrrow with an exact price.

You will be teched, but it's nothing too stringent. Those who were at IRP for the Rev will see that it's about the same. Pretty much no leaks and you're good to go. You will need an appropriate helmet, pants and closed toe shoes. The usual thing.

See here for more information and directions...

http://www.gingermanraceway.com/

It's about 2-2.5 hours from Chicago, so not that bad. I believe this starts at about 8 or so AM and runs if not til 5 then later. For those interested, we can meet at my place since very much on the way and go from there. If need be, if there are any from the NW burbs that want to or need to crash as not to have to get up much earlier, my place is up for grabs.

I'll post more info as time progresses.

Gingerman is a fantactic track! I was just out on it last night, and was reminded of that fact..!

I am enthused about the Gingerman trip and I hope we can get a ton of people on-board to represent the rotary community!

South Have is pretty neat so there should be some stuff going on after we are done at the track too.. for anyone who wants to stick around..

Oh yes, and the owner has a '93 Black R1 that has a full cage and a ton of work done (I've only seen it once or twice but that was the impression that I got..!) so hopefully if he is around he will cruise down and join his rotary compadres!

Ok, it is $150 for the day. Starts at 8:30 and you pay at the building formerly known as Heidi's (up on the paddock). They have 93, 104 and 110 for $3, $5 and $5 respectively. IIRC, the 110 is leaded. There will be a max of 30 cars per group and will have as many groups as necessary. That weekend they're hosting the Midwest Council, so there may be some pretty cool cars there for us to play with...

Any clue how much track time each group will get, or will that be determined once they know the number of groups?

The building formerly known as "Heidi's" has been renamed "8 1/2" after the Federico Fellini film .

WRX's are more than welcome, I'm sure! Also, you might not be the only one there..!

My would be that track time will be determined by the number of groups, but I do not know if there is a minimum set time..

I think the ferry lands in St. Joe, but yeah there is something like that. Takes like 3-4 hours IIRC. Price was near 60 or 70 round trip too. Unless I'm confusing that with the St. Joe/Chicago Ferry

Thumbs up gingerman raceway

How many people are signed up and how many are going to be able to get in.I`am all about going I was just there in august on a friday with the 3si/3sx club driving a friends 91 stealth R/T . But this time up I`ll bring my 94rx-7 and a just purchased 50.00 87 n/a fixer up just for the track. I must say that turn 11 needed some pavement work there is a crack in that area that if hit it will cut a tire you just have to avoid it.

No cage needed unless you have a convertable. As far as skill, I guess it's your perogative. I don't know if they're going to have any kind of brief there or not. If not, come find me and I'll give you some do's and don't's.
