Exclamation FLASH FLOOD! My house, car and garage were all flooded. With PICS!

so im not going to fill you in on all of the details of just how this happed exactly yet, but basically a drain clogged on the highway and water came over the road and down the otherside to the house, flooding everything in a matter of about 2 min. i managed to get into the garage and hoist my motor up that i just got back from a rebuild and was planning on putting in the car this week, and watched my 2002 wrx get flooded up to the front grill in a matter of seconds.

i think i made the right choice in saveing my motor over my car! lol i wanted to sell the damn thing anyway, i hope it is totaled! anyway hear are some pics:

MY motor barely above water, my roomate's 300zx which was almost completed, got flooded about half way up as you can see.

My rx-7, safely on high ground! lol

The aftermath, about and inch of mud all over the bottom floor of the house. you can see a waterline on the side of the wall.

i will add more pics later, but i have no power at my house so i dont know when i will be back on. i have to talk to the insurance adjuster today about my wrx, and then clean everything up.

this happed once before and the state paid to fix everything since it was there faulty drainage system that caused it. who would have though that even though the house is right on the ohio river, the river isnt what you have to worry about flooding it! hopefully the state will end up paying to replace everything once again.

well im out for now, i will try to get on again tonight if possable. i dont know for sure though.

post up what you think of all of this! lol

Thumbs up

Glad to see your priorities in the right order.

Save a 7, drown a Z.

lol that is kinda mean, but the z was kinda stuck anyway, jacking a motor up on a hoist is much easier than pushing a car out of a foot of water.

Looks like quite a bit of the garden hose action to get that all cleaned up in the garage. Good luck with the insurance. Let us know how it goes.

i got 15,100 for the WRX, i paid 12,200 for it, and wanted to sell it anyway. the house is right on the ohio river so no flood insurance. but it aparently isnt the river we need to worry about. it was all from the drains on the highway getting filled with mud. the z in the garage is good, the one outside is a parts car. my roomate is going to still continue on with his z project, we saved to motor and he is stipping the car down now. the mud is being a bitch to clean up but it isnt too bad besides in the garage now. anyway, i need to find a daily driver again, and the 7 is ready to go back together, i was going to put the motor in it the day before the flood, but it was raining, so i waited. Good thing i guess because it would have probably been in the garage as well.

Atticus, may I provide a suggestion?
Take some $ and go buy a Mazdaspeed3 for a DD. You won't regret it. At least take one for a test drive. Preferably somewhere with bending and twisting roads.

Good ole Indiana weather. Rivers down sound still havent crested from all that rain a week ago up north. Im pretty sure its going to break the record set in 2005. National guard trucks have been everywhere sandbagging and it didnt rain a drop here last week!

You could garantee the WRX would be totaled if you tried to start it
