assume?
ok charlies angels, i am not assuming anything, you are coming to that conclusion. i am stating a fact of what i had heard. so if you want to blow things up start with your rotary and not your thoughts, and im keeping it nice here.
again, i just stated what i had heard from a shop.
a few may be gearheads and others enthusiasts, which is fine, and i was just replying to a post and giving information.

I won't let go
very...
There's no tech as there's no catalyst to start talking tech. Nor is there a real need. The goal wasn't to duplicate everything here, but rather have a local venue for...well...locals.
There are plenty of gearheads, including myself. By no means am I an expert, but but I know how the thing works.

Tech stuff stays on here... meet info is over there. Simple as that. There's a much wider knowledge base on here. I actually require people to link me to meet info, as I don't read over there or here, now that I think about it... hmm.

I would love you to truly explain the differences between an enthusiast and a gearhead. Because the last time I checked they kind of went hand and hand. If you are a gearhead its because you have a passion for all things automotive and if your and enthusiast you have respect and knowledge of again all things automotive. And lets face it if you own a rotary you almost are required to be a gearhead to some degree because its not like these cars are fool proof like lets say a Honda.
I'm sure that in your head you know a lot about a rotary but its not like you just woke up one day and automatically knew about it, you had to learn it as you went along over the years. WE as an rx7/rotary community have all different levels of knowledge and understanding, and the thing I have noticed over the years of owning one myself is how cut throat and rude we are towards each other. If those of you that think you know so much more than the rest of us would lend your honest advice or help instead of you .02 cents we would be a lot better off. I mean come on how are is it to just answer the question being asked and that’s it without having to put some stupid opinion in or some smart *** remark.
And lets be perfectly honest here, you are saying that you are giving us facts based on something you "heard" as a fact? Well how do you know what you heard was SO true that you are going to go around and repeat it considering you had never heard of this shop before and still cant remember their name? Now that’s a stupid move considering it was only hear say and not based on your own experience with a Chicago RX7 club.
AND those are my .02 cents

Rotary Enthusiast
Jrizza, you started it. Everyone here knows the guy you decided to give the disrepectful nickname of Charlies angels. He is a non-hostile, likeable guy, learning the car like the rest of us, and took a little bit of of a defensive stance to the "enthusiast" tag you gave us. That word makes it sound like polishing our cars on Sunday, and a group hug afterwords, is what it's all about. I can assure YOU, that there is some serious gearhead **** goin down in the city. We are all on the same team.

I don't think an enthusiast can/wants to work on there car, a gearhead does all his own work.
Am I considered a gearhead? Hmm......

guys guys guys,
you are blowing this way out of proportion here, i had just repeated on the info i hheard from the mazda shop on the north side of chicago. there is no way of insult coming out of me pertaining to Chicago rotary club.
yeah it may have sounded bad, but the enter key was already pressed. Charlie7 got that reaction from me cause he started it. but it is all ok now.
i know the difference of enthusiats and gearheads.
so lets all get together on a sunday wax the cars, talk shop and have a group hug
hope no one else gets offended.
BTW i subscribe to Chicago rotary.
