Pax is really a handicap. To make it simple if you ran a raw time of 100 seconds and your PAX was 0.856 your PAX time (or Index time) would be shown as 85.6 seconds. This index is only used during an event for the Street Tire class as it's the only way one can fairly compare apples and oranges, i.e, compare a Vette with a Miata for example. Over all the PAX is used to rank everyone from fastest to slowest regardless of the class they ran.

Pax is a handicap for the class. For example, if you ran the course in 100 seconds and your PAX index was 0.856 your time would be entered as 85.6 seconds. In real life the PAX time is only used in the Street Tire class and then again to rank every one from fastest to slowest (regardless of class). It's used in the Street Tire class as a way to level the field among the cars in the class. That is it allows a fair comparison among drives of Vetts, Miatas, STi's etc. all of whom are on street tires. So with the PAX index it is entirely possible for a Miata to beat a Vette.
Sorry for the double post -- I was confused!!!!

Well I got my SCCA membership today, I am ready to run now, I think I will just pay for all the events upfront instead of per event. Now PhDMDRX7 what is this about "Here's the curent sign up list. If you want to proceed let me know and send me money!"?

Since the schedules and specifics have now been set (except for Rallycross) I thought I would post the links to the various information sources.
For the main website of the St. Louis Region, SCCA:
http://www.stlscca.org/
For SOLO activities:
http://www.stlsolo.org/Default.aspx
For PDX activities (SCCA version of "track days"):
http://www.stlpdx.com/
For RALLYCROSS activities:
http://www.stlrallyx.org/
And you can ask questions about ANY activities and probably get an answer at the website: http://sccaforums.com/forums/default.aspx
or use: http://sccaforums.com/forums/819/ShowForum.aspx for the direct link.
The latter is the St. Louis Region "Official Forum".......
Since I do many racing activities I haven't finalized my own schedule just yet. Although I intend to prioritize "competing" in Rallycross this year, I hope to make at least some Solo events as well. The 1st event conflicts with a Porsche Club event at GIR and the 2nd with a Race weekend in Hallet, OK.. So it may be the 3rd event before I can join the "group".
PS......If you are not an SCCA member yet - you may want to wait until the event to join as a "temporary member". There are some financial incentives that can make it cheaper, and you MUST be a member (temporary or otherwise) in order to participate (new this year)........SEE THE ABOVE POST ^^^^

Autocross this Sunday, I am hoping the weather is going to be nice. I still need to get some of stuff on the car to be ready, I guess I will work a little later every day this week on my car. (new wheels and tires on, dyno-tune on Thurs, new O2 sensor, and different ECU swapped in)

I think I did OK for not doing any autocross in over 2 years much less barley driving the car since than also. I really just need to get use to the car again. But I did have a good time and did meet some pretty cool people, and there was a large turn out. I would like to go tomorrow but I really don't feel like freezing my *** of in a mix of rain and snow...
