Anyone in OHIO want to trade their TII for my AWD DSM?

Cleveland area. My car is a 90 6bolt (best bottom end to have) talon AWD TSi. Mods are MBC, boost/AF gauges, swapped tranny and transfer case, SBR 3500 clutch kit, ACT XACT streetlite flywheel, and full 3inch turbo back with Megan racing muffler. Also has Balance Shaft eliminatior kit, (if you know what that is). Car has 130K, and currently doesnt run due to bent valves, but, I have a complete extra head that is perfectly fine just needs to be put on. I want only a S5 TII. AWD is great for the snow and ripping people out of the hole, this car is a rocket. Boost can be raised to 16 psi bone stock, (its at stock setting right now which is 10psi), and the stock 14B turbo makes 300HP at 21 lbs. DSM engines are bad as hell and the bottom end in this motor can handle 500hp safely and the head can handle 450hp safely.

i don't see it happening.............not too many ppl want to get rid of their 7s......let alone trade for a boinger......sounds like a bad *** car but I personally wouldn't do it.

plus, winter is coming.......not a smart move IMO

winter is coming, bad move? Its AWD, it laughs at winter. Plus, I live in Tampa FL, no snow here. My parents live in OHIO, I never changed my sig because Ive been on the DSMtuners forum since I moved to FL. Youre right, no one will probably trade unless they really look into how good the DSM AWD's are.

Well... consider that you're wanting to get a car that is roughly 4-5K in good shape (S5 TII) and there is no way in hell anybodoy would "pay" that much for a non running TSi...

If you have bent valves, then you probably have damage on the pistons also.

It's not as simple as replacing the heads.

actually, I am willing to bet the pistons are fine. I just had the same problem with my 93 TSI. NOthing wrong with pistions, I guess the valves are softer and give first. I used to have a 90 gst also, had it happend about 2 times, over stupid stuff, like idler pully malfunction, and timing set wrong. Never had any problem out of the pistons. My cousin has the 90 gst now, it has 267000+ miles on it, and still running strong, takes it to 7k on a daily basis. DSMs are great cars, look at them crooked and they get more horsepower. SOme poeple worry about crank walk, but that was only on 7 bolts from 95-99 and it was only about 7-8% of them. Like I said, Im on my 2nd one, but you are going to have a hard time getting a running T2 in an even trade, they are worth a good bit more. I paid $1400 for my talon needing a head. Dont get a T2 expecting to have a car that is alot better than your tsi. You are talking about a smaller life expectancy, and a lot worse reprocussion if you mess something small up, like too much boost and not enough gas.
