I got accepted to a Mercedes Benz training program in Glendale Heights, so I'll be going there from Socal this June. Kind of sucks because I'm leaving my FD behind sitting in the garage for 4 months and I won't have a car, and won't know anyone. Hopefully I can find a job within walking distance from my apartment. So is anyone here from Glendale Heights, or close?

i used to live in glendale heights. i lived at stonegate, right next to UTI. you will enjoy it. its a ton of fun. depending on where you live though, theres not a lot of jobs in walking distance. but you should go get a job at glendale nissan. that is the coolest place i have ever worked at.

 

I will definitely look them up. It might be hard with no tools and funky hours, but I'd lube tech it for sure. Are you a UTI graduate? I am in my last phase right now. Are you working as a tech right now?

i'm moving to uti in august. i got my appartment in carol stream so i'm like 10 min from you.

 

I'll update the thread for sure when I arrive. If someone would be willing to pick me up for the meets, I'd buy them lunch and a beer . I'm going to miss my car so much.

 

As long as the wife doesn't want to go, I could pick you up. Hope you don't mind driving fast.

I'm at UTI right now, utill September '07.. Don't live in Glendale Heights anymore though, moved back to Wisconsin. 140mi daily comute FTL.

 

Damn that's harsh. I commute about 100 miles a day between work and school, luckily I have a commuter civic. Is Benz Elite actually at your campus? I am going to try to get a job at a Jiffy Lube or something so I can afford a bike while I'm out there.

HA. I currently attend the FORD FACT program @ UTI in Glendale Heights, and I live about 30 miles south. I have three weeks left there, but if anybody goes to UTI and has a 7, hit me up, I haven't seen any 7's there since july of '06.

 

Its at the "Mega center" down the road, less than a block away. Theres plenty of jobs around here
