everyone else can have one when the testing is complete... so far it is working perfectly...

I am holding out on buying a computer for my own car in hope microtech do something.

As i have a 45psi map sensor. And tuning with 16 load points, with 4 X1700cc injectors is proving to be annoying to say the least.

OK, so the LT16 has everything we were promised would be supplied via software for the LT8s.

Therefore, I assume anyone upgrading to an LT16 from an LT8s would receive one at a considerable discount?

Not likely Aaron, and besides, I'm not sure on pricing for the LT16, but I heard it was upwards of $2k AUS, so even at a discount, it would still be an expensive option. Better off selling the LT8 and going with another manufacturer I think, that's what I'll be doing eventually.

lt16 will be 2k+.

the lt12s with all the jingles and bells was 2k+

I bought the LT8s on good faith that Microtech would be supplying software upgrades. I was told this when I purchased the ECU.

I do love my LT8s though. It has been very reliable and a breeze to tune. However I'm starting to notice the lack of features compared to other ECUs. Save to disk and 3D timing tables are the two features the ECU needs to have. Closed loop would be nice.

Honestly I probably would not consider spending $2K on the LT16, nor would I recommend them to anyone, based on how Microtech treated the LT8 owners. I'd just use a Megasquirt.

You would think so, but based on the responses on their forum to the tune of "Other ECUS aren't proven on the track" and "The new stuff will be ready when it is ready.I have no control over it & you coming on here crying like a little mummies boy isn't going to help it be released any faster either. Go & purchase a different ECu if you aren't happy." What kind of company actually says that?

you would figure w/ so much interest they would get on w/ it. I run the lt8s as well w/ hopes of software upgrades. Piss on them..

It will definitely cost money. I'd really be surprised if it was downloadable software, I mean, they can't even rig the aux 0-5 V in to register a wideband 0-5 V Out without sending it back to them, and they truly will release a completely new software package with 4 x the resolution downloaded? I don't know...

Well if they dont release the software for the LT10s, I plan to sell mine and deal with the Haltech issues. At least Haltech has good customer service, and you dont have to keep sending it back and getting boned on shipping to have one small feature added.

I'd be happy to pay a small free for the upgrade. Hell, I'm planning on sending my LT8s back for the BAC and wideband options to be added at some point which will cost me dearly ($150 for the BAC, more for the wideband). So even though I am not happy with the lack of software I am still happy with the ECU and am willing to pay to continue using it with great capabilities.

I just don't get it...It is not hard to expand the resolution of the ECU, switch out the timing tables and create a simple routine in the tuning software to save and load to/from disk. The effort is minimal and the result are very happy customers instead of annoyed customers.

I am happy w/ mine but would love more options and a choice to upgrade my current unit.

When i compare what the other ecus are capable of doing i start to wish i had went with something else. The Lt8 is just too limited. We have to special order too many things that are standard on ecus..simple thing like wideband connectivity shouldnt be this difficult

Wideband connectivity is dead simple. It uses the exact same input conditioning as the narrowband. It is a simple software change. As are 3D timing tables, closed loop and save to disk. In that sense, there is absolutely no reason why it has taken 5+ years for Microtech to not deliver on it's promise of better software for the ECU.
