When I talk to people about ECUs now, I always make sure to tell them that while the Microtech is very reliable and seems to be immune from trigger issues, the user cannot save maps to disk, ignition setup is very limited and there is no closed loop operation. To most people, that unsells the ECU.

There's a reason that the only ECUs I've installed in the last 3 years have been Megasquirts.

I'm not unhappy with my Microtech, but I'm fairly pissed that I have to send it to Microtech to have the BAC enabled (why not just a software switch like every other ECU) and wideband logging enabled (why not a software switch). I've come to grips with not being able to save maps.

The Megasquirt is a good ECU but it is far more prone to noise then the Microtech. If you are careful with your wiring and use good shielded cable it's a nonissue. As for the software, it has a few quirks but is easy to understand. Obviously, far more features then the Microtech. Closed loop works well, BAC control works, etc.

well I heard 3rd stage was optional on the lt10 so I send in the ecu to get few updates, wich my friend told them what we wanted done before they got there,

and last day before they closed they said 3rd stage is not available, only lt12 has that option, so now I have a the car down for over a month trying to figure it out,

so looks like its time for another ecu just not sure wich one, I like aem but don't have the stock toasted harness anymore,

I have honda 1050 aem box laying around with new harness plug but not sure if it can be set for rx7 ignition,

I am very frustrated just spend the money for nothing
wont be using or recomending their products in future

All I can say is fill one hand with Microtech's delivering on promises, and **** in the other. See which one fills up first.

Tell me about it , even megasquirt is a better option right now . They are always updating software and you can have wideband datalogin,Boost control,Shift Light control ,Water Injection control ,Knock Sensor Input,Staged Injection,2 Stage Nitrous Control , open and close loop ect. big bang for the money

It's pathetic. And funny. Because when people try to tell them their problems, to encourage productive changes, they lash out in denial. They will fail, unfortunately...

This would be good news, if they had not been saying the same thing for 5 years.

Hello , Maria

I have a LTX-12S and I would like know when will you guy's have the new software available with the 32x32 map and the ability to save maps into PC or Disk . There has been quite a few microtech dealers on the microtech forum mentioned this software that it was going to be available soon and that was around two years ago . Any updates on when it will really be available ?

Best Regards
Gilbert

Hello,

At this stage, we have no confirmed date of when the software will be ready for release. Once testing of prototypes have passed and all software bugs are removed that is when the software will be released/ available for purchase.

Kind Regards,
