Microtech Startup
Help with startup and top dead center
Oke,
Here is the catch. My car is finished but doesnt want to start. Its a FD.
I think my timing is off because I didnt do a thing with it, only put the belts on. How do I find top dead center. I have new leads and plugs.
She cranks, has spark and has compression. She even idled for a time but then died. So I adjusted the primary's. for less injection, but no luck.
I have a microtech ECU, checked everything. Running with 850 primary's and 1600 secundaries. Need some help here to finally drive it.
So how do I put it in TDC and can let her Idle.
Thanks
Rogier
Any help would be appreciated.

I just had the same problem. Here's what I will be doing as explained to me:
1. adjust static timing setting to 0 zero degrees
2. Turn "timing lock" on
3. on the stock timing wheel you will see 2 notches... looking at the "rightmost" notch count roughly 5mm to the right.. mark with "white-out"
4. connect yout timing light to Leading 1 sprark wire... looking at the plug wires front the drivers side fender, Leading 1 is the bottom left spark wire
4. turn on car and let it idle
6. shoot the timing light on the pulley
7. it should light pretty close to the white mark you made, it sometimes wont be exact due to spark scatter and old timing lights but it should be really close
8. now your done.. TURN OFF "TIMING LOCK"

Well, I didnt do this, but the car runs after pullstart. I think it had to do with the compression. However it will not startup (yet) after starting it with the key.
I think the timing is for FC only.
